What's happening to our MRT??

I can't seem to get back to those days where I could reach town from Lakeside within 30 mins. Trains now seem to move much slower for some reasons...

Perhaps it's due to the aging and rotting rail sleepers. Now they are changing to concrete ones, starting with sections near to Kranji MRT (have mentioned this a couple of posts ago) - even a running man is faster than the trains when moving along this stretch of the route.

To make the matter worst, the works could only be done at midnight after train operation has ceased operation for the day - the progress is slowwwwww... They estimated it to be completed in 2016!

What?! Still need to endure the slow speed till 2016? Another 3 years more... OMG.

Going to choose bus if train speed is slow now le lo.

And then came across this forum post on MRT yesterday.

看了都噁心

What the hell? Lao sai on the train?! And somemore this train is NEW - latest generation to the rolling stock! Imagine the stench that fills up the whole cabin. The powerful ventilator fan makes the whole matter worse. At least if got the feeling to lao sai, alight at the nearest station go out and head for toilet before taking the train lo.

But even if can't control, at least the deh kor could hold all the sai though the cabin may be jin smelly, so that the train is still clean. Suspect the 罪魁禍首 didn't wear deh kor?! Eek...!!!! *shrieking out loud*

Having been to Seoul, Busan and Hong Kong. Must say the subway system in these cities were so much better than ours. HK one is very high efficiency - trains always arrive within 2-3 minutes, not 5-6 minutes during off-peak hour and about 1-2 minutes during peak hour. While I do experience 3-5 minutes of waiting time during peak hour for SMRT... Not to mention HK MTR trains accelerate and brake fast too. It's just fast.

Korea's ones, even for Seoul's subway trains, may not be so high frequency as HK... But the facilities inside subway station are pretty good - except for lack of escalators - they made you exercise by climbing up and down the stairs. For example, one could find mama shops on the platform itself or some stations have toilets within the paid areas! Perfect for people like the above to relieve himself/herself at emergency times.
