Conclude 2012

2012 is coming to an end. This post shall conclude the year 2012.

First of all, I started the year with my IA. To be frank, it was a pleasant experience.

In the midst of doing my internship, I got the chance to really relax myself a bit. Going out after work seemed to be so much enjoyable task.

Started chasing Running Man. To be honest, it has replaced my weekly dose of Taiwanese variety shows,  The ideas used were fresh, something you couldn't think of it. Unlike TW variety shows where contents could be different, but the theme was the same, kept using it again and again. Hmm, seems like I'd go after new ideas.

Oh ya, celebrated birthday for Nicholas and JX too! How to celebrate when I'm busy catching up school stuff during that period?

The IA lasted for 23 weeks then came the busy holidays. Immediately after the IA, straight away gotta prepare birthday celebration for PG, subsequently HH. The most difficult was HH birthday,

Also, came to my surprise was HL and my birthday celebration.

Cycling around East Coast Park on a sunny day! :)

Cleared RT and IPT. Waiting for RT in March 2013 now.

The 8 Korean classes! It was very fun learning the Korean language. It struck me that it really attract students to pay attention if the teacher knows how to engage students in whatever form he/she can, be it good drawing, jokes and malu moments... Otherwise, language classes can be boring one if you're not very very very very interested in that language.

So far I could say, Korean is really super simple to learn. But to master, that's another story. But half the battle's won! Left the honorific, grammar and the vocabulary to build up one's language skills. And yeah, know one Korean friend from the class!

After which was the HH's chalet @ Pasir Ris. Fun, but if the host is not fun enough, then I feel it's rather failure actually - you leave the guests hanging.

And then the 恐怖的 MINDEF notification came. It's my first ICT! What a way to welcome 開學…… It added on the stress I'm having.

The 1st semester for year 4 was horrendous. Everyone was trying hard to catch up, including me. HRM was one they say killer module. I shall agree with them, after I received the results. Prof communication, luckily got CX, otherwise I think I'd die also. And I shan't comment on the other group members.

And of course came the exams, I didn't do well of course. That's why I need to work a lot harder next semester. And I guess it would be better than this sem. Why? Because there's no communication module, no more withdrawal sufferings for me (accustomed back to school life), no HRM. But there's ENS, hopefully it would be better than HRM.

Then bought Cowon J3 MP3 player and Panasonic LX7. The J3 serves as the primary MP3 player while the iPhone becomes the secondary. J3 is able to tune itself to different earphones to produce the desired sounds, which is what I want. On the other hand, the same pair of earphones on iPhone sound rather flat. J3 will have a punchier sound.

The LX7 is the 2nd 正統 camera that I actually own. The first one was also a Panasonic, model name DMC-F7, owned about 8 years ago. Haha, the Amazon's black friday offer of USD 299 was really too irresistable liao, so the LX7 is the new camera that I take ownership. It's a nice camera and contains a lot more functions than the F7 which I need to learn and master. But currently now busy with FYP, not much time to go around shooting photos with it.

Went ICT on the 10 December 2012. Clementi Camp hasn't changed much, but the guardhouse had been renovated. The mess was gone and I kinda miss the mess food liao. The $2 nasi lemak, the legendary commando cutlet, and the san lao hor fan (三撈河粉) ordered by Wei Qi almost without fail. Instead of staying right up the small hill, now I sleep 'downstairs'. Didn't have the chance to visit the K9 and I'm not sure if anybody I know still stationed there.

First day was quite slack, had a trip to Gardens by the Bay in the afternoon. Remained quiet all the way as there is absolutely nobody I know who is also inside this unit. It's only the second day when I have no choice, and they broke us into sections, then I started to make friends and intro myself to them. Most of them ORDed later than me, kinda made me a bit unique lo.

Now back to reality, it's coming to the end of 2012. It's definitely a busy year for me, especially in the latter half of the year. A lot of events had happened and I'm just wow-ed by them. Also, progressing into the final year is stressful. The FYP marks the finale of the university education, so I'm putting a lot of focus on it. Final year also means I begin to see some lights at the end of tunnel. The desire to graduate got stronger as the days past by, macam countdown ORD like that lol. But it also means it's another journey liao.

So what did I achieve in 2012? The most prominent thing I've observed from myself is that I tend to see things from different angles,

Cycling @ East Coast + Saboteur @ Tampines + Exam results + The Dark Knight Rises

Met Angus to pass him the logbook before I made my way to 주신정. Chatted a bit, but actually it was quite long. The feeling was like meeting old friend like that though we met only once. LOL~

I think I, together with PG and YC were the first customer to patron the restaurant or the 식당. HL came about 5 mins later. Wanted to have buffet, but $26++ is really expensive. On top of that, we gonna spend more than that amount per pax. So we sticked to ala carte. Nice food btw~

The Korean male waiter (very 顯眼 by his apparance one) was getting more and more bitchy every time we visited the place. This time round, he jokingly said 'no' when HL asked 'could we have XXX (dish name)'. Beh tahan. Finally, when he asked why we spreading over 2 tables when there's only 4 of us, we told him there's a friend, who's called 아줌마, was on his way liao.

Ordered the clear beef-rib soup (갈비탕), hot plate spicy pork belly (돼지불고기), stir-fried chicken (닭갈비), kimchi pancake (김치전). The 닭갈비 comes along with a serving of steamed egg as complimentary.

Didn't had the beef soup. The spicy pork belly was nice! :)
*Acutally trying to prepare myself for the Korea grad trip :)

Then came HH. The moment he sat down, the waiter came up on him and said in his friendliest tone ever with a smile '안녕하세요, 아줌마!'. We couldn't help but laughed damn loud. OMG, it was so funny. HH just sat there and 愣住, think he's just stunned by the calling of 아줌마. Haha.

He only sticked to the 江魚仔 and the kimchi pancake (김치전). The pancake was still as good as ever, not too thick, slight crispy and it's hot!

The 닭갈비 came in with many more vegetables compared to the last time. It's more colorful now! Lastly, we whopped up some kimchi fried rice with the existing ingredients lying on the table, including the rice served with the soup and the pork belly. Each of us took turn to fry the rice except HH. Just a bit of vegetables only, he don't want the rice liao.

It's very fun to have Korean meals at times.

Then we walked to East Coast Park to rent bicycles. Seriously, renting bikes also depends on luck. The 2nd previous bike wasn't good, can't go fast no matter how hard I pedaled. :/ This time round, it was good with the bike I rode, but not quite so for PG.

(Imagine riding the bike to/fro Lakeside station and my house, how fast it would be!)

Took the Bedok Camp route to ride to Tampines. Honestly, would prefer the Changi Airport (up to SFT) route because I think it's rather scenic than riding just beside a canal. On top of that, we had to cross a couple of roads to make the trip complete. Also, the pavements at Tampines always got people walking on it. Crowded = hard to maneuver.

Then headed over to j.co to enjoy the 1-for-1 drinks promotion. Had Orange Yoghurt drink ($7). It was not bad actually, not that sour as some would have expected. The choco frappe one was quite sweet, somehow feels unhealthy, but it was nowhere compared to the one HH drank. That one was honestly too sweet liao.

Played Saboteur 2. Enjoyed the round when only me and HL were the saboteur. Caught everybody by surprise. Even I was fooled by HL's action (I thought she was the blue miner wor). But it came out good! :)

Then HH was the saboteur during one of the rounds, but he failed to win the game when everyone else won the round as miner. HAHA! The sound we made attracted attention from the public, especially PG's voice. BXDS~

Exam results released at midnight. Actually it's the worst semester ever, not only for exam but also as a whole thing. Sick. Can't adjust myself after a wonderful IA period. FYP. Attended funeral before exams. Horrible workload. It's kinda expected that I wouldn't be doing that well liao.

But still, I didn't expect to get that grade for HRM, but oh well, it wasn't an easy module to handle because it's not engineering related at all, plus I'm down with illness the night before. Seriously, this module pulled me down a lot.

EE4303 not much comment for it, really I didn't see the trick there.

EE4341 this one I really can blame myself. After putting the most effort possible, I expect to get a good grade, but ended up getting mediocre grade only. Probably because I was sick for the morning paper, saw this but wrote something else. It's not I can't do, if that's the case, it's totally another response altogether.

EE4648, another shocker. I don't know why.

HW0310 alright with it.

ES8001. Finally, I don't have to spend so much time, even though I've S/U-ed (not sued) it. Don't have to put up with elective nor communication module anymore. Only left ENS, which is another headache to come.

Though still retain the class, but I really need to work harder for next sem. Slap myself awake. FYP die die have to secure that grade! T.T

Took me 3 days to complete the 2.5 hr . It's totally long overdue, but did manage to catch it at the comfort of home. The story received a good development with some mind-provoking thoughts rather than just pure action porn.

The Batman (Bruce Wayne) died at the end. Did he really died? Did the atomic bomb explosion caused him to die? Did he save himself by exploding the bomb in the sea? Or he just want to continue living as a normal person somewhere else? What about Catwoman? She's seemed to be the one staying with Bruce at the ending. The movie did show some clips here and there, like the Bruce's grave, Bruce living happily somewhere else, but it's up to the audience for interpretation.

Not sure if there would be a sequel to this. The 2008 film with Joker inside was another nice film to watch.

Cooling and quiet Christmas day

Today was rather cooling, not much sunlight + the breeze = cool weather.

Supposed to meet HL and PG but while HL and PG were busy today, so I met ex-colleague Haegen today.

Did a bit of final report while lazy to go school to do simulation.

Had KFC for lunch and from there we chatted almost everything. But mainly centred around my grad trip to Korea in May/June next year as he had just returned from Korea not too long ago.

Then we moved to McDonald's to have high tea (actually it's coffee) to continue the chit chat. Lastly, we had 老火湯 for dinner before going home.

Here are some pointers I've noted down from him:
1. Public transport is way better in SG. And possibly cheaper(?). Should take subway/bus in Seoul. Taxi also not very very expensive, but need to see the traffic conditions in the city.

2. Food may not be cheap. Fast food is about the same price in SG. Cheaper if visit those tents in those small lorong or roadside stalls. Recommended to have the seafood. Super fresh and cheap!

3. Most places have WiFi service. Almost all hotels do provide WiFi service also. So shouldn't have any problem bringing all phones/tablets over. No need to buy pre-paid card over there too.

4. Clothings will have a smaller cutting. So if I'm wearing M here, I have to look for L over there.

5. Ginseng is the so-called 'National Treasure' of Korea. So recommend to buy.

6. Hotels do provide almost all facial products, from gel to lotions to bathing foam. All big big bottles one, free of charge. Even got differentitate for men's use or women's use.

7. Security wise, Korea is comparable or even better in SG.

8. For electrical appliances, the different type of socket means need to have an adaptor for our UK type plug. Recommended to bring extension cable or 3-point splitter.

9. Dongdaemun is cheaper than Myeongdong. So recommended to stay in dongdaemun. (In fact, I have no preference to accomodation. Of course need to be budget, but I just need clean rooms, beds and bathrooms, that's all.)

10. 化妝品多到嚇死你 and they are a lot cheaper than in SG.

11. If buying stuff in duty-free shops, it's not allowed to bring the goods out of the shop. The shop will send the paid goods to airport and you'll have to collect the goods there. This is to prevent resale to the locals as locals are not entitled to buy the stuff at the cheaper rate (tax-free).

On another note, the thought of graduating did excite me a bit. Afterall, after putting in effort for the past 4 years or 8 semesters, it's time to put it to an end. Time flies.

The grand finale is to put on the 方帽 to mark the end of education journey of most university students. Time to separate from the course mates I've known for the past 4 years, despite I didn't know a lot of them during my study in NTU. Been trying hard though, but everyone seems so living in their own social circle like that leh. Anyway, there's something call 'meeting up' haha!

Lastly, continue the journey of life on another entirely different route.

Haven't started finding jobs. I'm waiting for it. I don't know about the rest but some of those I know are finding and a few of them had already gotten their jobs. The only thing now is to complete whatever is required for the course and go straight into the company to start work. Happy for them though.

How different or difficult this new route is going to take, I don't know. It contains a lot more uncertainties than the previous transitions I've made. But nonetheless, make it the best out of it is what I do know as of now. Along the way, I'll definitely meet new people but I will try to stay in contact with current friends, though we can get quite busy. I enjoy the company of friends!

Even for now, the way I see things are a tad different from what I see the same thing when I started school or even in year 3. In fact it's totally different from when I'm in NS/JC/secondary school.

Come to think of it, I think I understood why people are saying 'being a student is better than working outing'. I'd probably getting the same thoughts in near future too.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Dinner at Spize

Wanted to pass 燒包 to HL, so initiated dinner session with her and PG.

Went back to school for FYP earlier on but to find that the simulation wasn't functioning and need to call the system administrator or technician. Since it's Sunday so definitely nobody would be around, nonetheless I worked on the comparator instead.

Worked until sian liao, so packed up slightly earlier than the two of them, headed down to Tiong Bahru to catch a bus to Great World City.

It was a rather last minute decision to have dinner at Spize @ River Valley Road. And what's so unexpected was that HH backed out last minute! So much so for all the notifications and discussions =.=

The cheese fries serving was large enough to be shared among 3-4 pax and it was nice too! On the other hand, the nasi goreng pattaya and mee goreng pattaya were delicious! Especially the mee goreng, it had the tze char feel to it! The roti john chicken special was slightly a let down compared to the former 2 dishes.

Shan't talk so much and let the pictures do the talking!

Decided to talk a stroll to Orchard Road since it isn't far away from River Valley Road. It was a totally another world from the rather tranquil River Valley area - bustling, crowded, performances here and there.

One thing I don't really like is the lighting decoration along Orchard Road. Too yellowish-red for my liking, it tends to give a false impression that we are celebrating Chinese New Year. But it is still 1.5 months away from now. Last few years were ok, but the best was even earlier back...

*Tanglin Mall is so well-known among locals and even foreigners for the man-made snow!

We slowly made our way down to Plaza Singapura where we visited Cafe Cartel for their Happy Hours (50% off on the dessert kinda items). Ordered the Mocha Frappe ($3) and just chill and chatted there. All the laughter immediately distress myself away from the FYP woes...

And so fast HL started to talk about 2013 new year countdown. Yep, supposed to plan now already since it's only next week.

Shall conclude this year 2012 in one of the upcoming posts.

BMT mates small gathering + Ah Boys To Men 新兵正傳 + new camera pouch

After back from visiting relatives in Malaysia, went out yesterday to meet 2 of the BMT mates @ I12 Katong. How time flies, last time it was known as Katong Mall, now it has been renovated and 'upgraded' into a premium mall called I12 Katong.

I wasn't late, in fact I'm early by a couple of minutes only la... But they all so merciless said me late :( lol...

Went to the kopitiam across the mall to have lunch. Jordan tried out the new camera. Jordan and I had the 福建蝦麵, while PG had 炒粿條 and Gerald had the 麵線版本的福建蝦麵. The mee sua version was good too! Omg, didn't know can mix like that one... Haha...

豆干包 or Tau Kwa Pau

Bought tickets for Ah Boys To Men 新兵正傳 movie. $7, heng got student rates. I think if you watch this together with BMT mates, definitely there's something you all could resonate together one! It seems a lot has changed for BMT also. The bunk layout, the training programme even the colour of the building were different from my era.

Surprisingly Irene Ang could speak Hokkein very well! (now I wonder why her mandarin is cmi? Hokkein and mandarin are not very similar though, but shouldn't be too far off from mandarin liao mah) The movie also brought in recent saga, like the maid carried field bag for NSF or the NSF tried to swim back to Singapore mainland from Pulau Tekong.

Actually about 70% dialogue were in English, but I found mandarin/Hokkein dialogue were the most hilarious.

Oh yah, and the CB leaf... LOL~

Went across the road again for Awfully Chocolate's desserts. Actually I wanted to try la + they all say it's not bad, so we just went over to pass the time lor. Ordered 4 desserts: Super Stacked Chocolate Cake, Cold Poached Chocolate (with peach?), Hazelnut Crumble, chocolate ice cream. Of all, the Hazelnut Crumble was the nicest while the ice cream was rather so-so. Too chocolatety liao, seems like I no need to have chocolate for the incoming future.

Super Stacked Chocolate Cake,

Cold Poached Chocolate (with peach?),

Hazelnut Crumble,

I started the ball rolling by requesting each of us to talk just one thing related to our BMT at that time. It can be anything, training, recruit life, funny moments, striking moments, etc. Dug a lot of things out sia, some of which I didn't have any impression before. LOL... Nice gathering nonetheless...

After the farewell, me and PG made our way to City Hall as I wanted to look for a camera pouch (tried my luck at Funan) and also claim the Häagen-Dazs voucher.

$1 for a scoop of Häagen-Dazs's crème brûlée flavoured ice-cream was reasonable. Otherwise, I wouldn't spend my monies there as one scoop is rather expensive. Take Tom's Palette over this anytime. The taste is quite caramel-like, but it's not caramel. Interesting flavour.

Then went to Funan to look for a suitable camera pouch. At first sight, I was rather disappointed because most of the shops had closed at 8.30pm?! Somemore it's on a weekend's eve leh~ Anyway, I just walked around and finally

Have been looking at Manfrotto pouches for sometime since during exams, but the shipping cost from US to SG just simply doesn't make the deal. So I just try my luck to see if there's any of them lying around at Funan. Its pouches were adequately cushioned IMO, and they were not just a bit, Plus there's compartment for additional memory cards.

Nano IV

To my delight, I found almost full collection of its pouches at one of the shops there. Went in to see see look look, the quality wasn't bad though. Most importantly the price was reasonably priced. S$17 for one, compared to USD 13-15 if I buy from Amazon. And that haven't include shipping cost. So immediately I bought the Nano IV for my LX7 liao. Haha~ Happy with the purchase.

Just before the day ended, received the call-up notification!

Sweet Dynasty 糖潮甜品 + Life of Pi 少年Pi 的奇幻漂流 + Blue Diamond

Went out with another group of friends (PG, HH, HL, ZX and Sebastian) because HH had bought vouchers for the dimsum buffet. (Actually I feel there's no need to buy for all la, if you want to buy for yourself then I'm ok with it)

Was first to reach Aljunied MRT by 30 mins earlier, haha! Coz no mood to continue FYP after some briefings by prof earlier in the morning. Haha, the ICT side-effect hadn't fully go away so need time to adjust myself. lol...

Subsequently everybody reached and we made our way to the venue. OMG, it's not the restaurant as I've expected it to be. More like 茶餐廳 style. But nonetheless, there's (aircon?) inside, so it's not hot and stuffy.

Ordered both steamed and fried stuff. I felt that the 燒賣, 奶皇流沙包 and 芋角 ware not too bad actually. But the rest were too average or the taste was a bit weird, especially the 豬腸粉, they added vinegar to it to make it taste sour!

Then we ordered some desserts, they were ok, but nothing too fantastic. At least better than the food lol...

Overall damage: $22.

Then as we were having high-tea buffet, ZX, PG, HH and me were playing 三國殺 while the couple was enjoying their '二人世界' at one corner lol... The first round I was 內奸 and the rest of them were 反賊, of course I died in the game la. Then come second round, ZX was 主公 while PG and me were 忠臣 and HH was the 反賊... Obviously ZX, PG and me were 一條心 so we 對付 HH first. Then HH was first to die (I think).

Then after the eating event, HH suddenly turned so moody and wanted to go home. OMG, 最後還要出動HL and PG去勸阻他, don't know he was 暗爽 or what.

Next we went to watch Life of Pi @ Bugis Junction. Was deciding whether to go for Hobbit or this movie. It seemed to me that Life of Pi attracted me more, haha... The movie was not just merely narrate how the Indian boy survived from a shipwreck and lived with another survivor, the tiger. But it also passed something which had a deeper meaning than itself - how Pi, living in an environment of both factual and fictional, interprets the reality.

The movie had stunning computer graphic effects - loved the night scene (where jellyfishes glowed in the waters). Could say almost everything is done by CG, you can't possibly film the shipwreck in reality... lol...

After the show, it was still rather early, only 7 plus. So we headed to Blue Diamond for some bites. Kothu Parotta was still as nice but sad to say

*Sorry, no pics for this post*

Old friends meet up for karaoke session and dinner

Went out to meet up with 'old' friends (Bay, YZ) despite heavy rain. Shi Hao not free and Edwin don't know go where liao.

Ok la, not say they are super old friends, but having known each other for more than 5 years, not that new le.

First went to Party World KTV @ Woodlands Civic Centre, booked the room for 3 hours. Sang quite a number of songs, to satisfy the singing cravings. $21 was not cheap anyway. Still prefer to go Malaysia for karaoke. Bay and YZ were fooling around, lol. Beh tahan...

Then YZ left first, both me and Bay went dinner at Causeway Point. Tried out the Herb Roasted Maple Glazed Chicken (half) @ Empire State.

Herb Roasted Maple Glazed Chicken,

It was not bad, given the price tag of $11.90. Bay ordered Crab Fat Pasta, not too bad also. At least the red-red gravy was not those typical tomato fashion - it had some crab taste to it!

While settling the bill, we saw Brandon working there, what a coincidence! He was on internship at RP. Interestingly, internship means working on weekends also. Well, in service sector there's nothing such as purely Mon-Fri only.

Hmm, should really bring friends to try other stuff next time, like ramen or dak galbi!

Next, we walked around to digest the food a bit. I wanted to look for a camera pouch for LX7, managed to see a real-life Manfrotto Nano I camera pouch but it seems small to fit in the LX7. In the end didn't buy it. $24 though... Imagine if it's Nano II model, should be more expensive :( Looks like have to go down to Funan to source for it. Not to mention about the screen protector... Ahh, poor le.

On the other hand, Bay wanted to buy a pillow for himself. So we looked around for the pouch and the 'atas' pillows. After some consideration, he bought a $29 one. It's important to get good quality sleep in order not to strain muscles and bone structures, on top of a deep sleep habit. Light sleep can cause a lot of disturbances on sleep, i.e. little things or noise could wake one up.

Tomorrow have to continue the FYP project. Really want to settle it by Jan.

First ICT over!

Finally back from the 6-day ICT. It was the first ICT ever, with a lot of uncertainties. And of course my deferement application was unsuccessful. As much as I'd hoped to clear ICT cycle as fast as I can, but not this holiday ba... =/

OMG, it has been about 2.5 years since I last visited the camp. Nothing much has changed though, everything looked so in the 2007-2008-ish. But sad thing was that the mess had closed shop and the legendary uncle wasn't around. Moved out already? Also noticed certain changes done to previous unit also.

Luckily on the first day no need to bring everything back, though I saw people bringing everything back on first day of first ICT. So garang.

Then I found out that the people inside are quite young, ORDed only about a year or two ago. In fact, I'm considered old liao wor. But there were people who wore old uniform, lol, should have wore old ones in. Haa~

And also, I knew on the first day that I'm alone in the bn. There's no one I know or the faces I recognised before who was also in this bn. Everybody was so stranger to me. So I just kept quiet and observed the situation around first lo. But it seemed like everybody has their own clique like that.

But by second day they already forced us into groups, no choice but start to meet new people, talk around and make new friends. Luckily, my clique still alright and we stayed in section level most of the time. So it was a relief somehow. Eventually, continued to talk around and knew more people. Some of them were quite interested in what I did during active days last time.

Long story cut short...

After did everything, we all feel that we've known each other for a long time even though we only first met for a few days only. It was rather pleasant to arrive at this conclusion actually though we didn't like to get dirty and such.

Amazingly, everybody was exchanging phone numbers towards the end of ICT. Looks like they are going to stay in contact even after this ICT.

After the last activity, which was the CIP, some of us like LT, Spencer, Kenneth and Paul went to J8 to chill and continued to chat before call it a day. Imagine 10 years down the road and 原班人馬 gather together for a chill session, what would the topic like? Would it still reminiscing the past in the olden days? Or talking about career, jobs, family? I don't know.

Perhaps, as the saying goes something like this "ICTs may be chiong and siong all the way, but after that, sitting down together and talked and laughed about it can be rather memorable", somehow it may be true after all.

And lastly, very tired ahhh!!!

Uncle Jang 닭갈비, planning timetable and restart FYP

After 2 days of relaxing, today resumed work operations. But not long after, I have to go back for ICT after 4 years. The thought of ICT is a bit disturbing because there are a lot of uncertainties as this is my first ICT.

So yesterday morning called back to clarify about the head dress issue. But the reply I got gave me a bit of shock. Honestly, if I am expected to know all these, I might as well sign on as a career right? Makes sense what... It is because this is my first ICT after a long full period of 4 years plus all along I have been studying these few years. Who has the time to go think about these things? So I don't think it's unreasonable to ask such questions. Nonetheless, I got the answer.

Thanks to this ICT, it jumbled up all my timetabling works. Talking about timetable, it will be the last timetable that I plan. Extra work was done to make sure I really meet the graduating AU requirements. Time really flies and now my batch is waiting to graduate from NTU.

Next, waited for HL, Sebastian and PG to go Bukit Indah to see see look look. Took CW3 and arrived at Bukit Indah 1 hour later. There's no need to wait for the bus and such. Custom clearance was super fast. Saw Legoland along the way. I'm not sure if the attraction is big, but judging outside, it seemed that it is not 100% completed. The admission fare also not cheap also. RM120 for a single adult admission?!

Had some jelly desserts at 黑丸 because Sebastian wanted to try. Talked about the graduation trip to Korea. Looks like there's no need to go Taiwan or Hong Kong le. 2 full weeks in Korea! OMG, the idea of roadtrip sounded nice and attractive to me. Immediately, I was drawn into that idea. How nice it is to drive around, exploring new places. Hehe... But before that, there are a lot of details to settle, such as accomodation, air tickets and even the sequence of visiting places which I had no prior experience. And precisely this is the reason why I bought a camera. :)

Watched Wreck-It Ralph. Bought under 1-for-1 promotion, so in actual fact it cost me only RM5! Seats were new, nice and comfortable (cushion was not as 'thin' as some of the cinemas here). Yay!

After the movie, went to look for Uncle Jang restaurant. (ahh, should have taken another route, 'coz we realised it was dead end at Tesco's carpark =X) Nonetheless, after some 摸索, we finally found the restaurant! The service was good. Food came in big portions, in fact it was so full that you don't have to order side dishes (oh ya, it doesn't offer 반찬). Taste wise... acceptable, but I think Big Mama would be more 重口味, perhaps lack of fragrance by 麻油 as suggested by Sebastian? But it is not bland either. Maybe 2 parts spicy and 1 part non-spicy would be nicer. Haha~~ For a meal that cost less than half price of what I would need to pay if dine in SG (RM 22), I would say it's very good. :)

Morning went back to school to restart on FYP. Seems quite lost where I've stop my FYP. Nonetheless, after some readings and see the circuits I've drawn. I could roughly gauge where I've done. Now it's probably 30-40% done? Hopefully I could finish till 80-90% when school starts. (meaning no December holidays for me liao, on top of ICT... Grrrr...

However, after some progressions, I'm now stuck again as I not sure how to analyse the circuit. =X Have to consult prof how to continue after back from ICT le. =X

Went Daiso @ IMM to look for a camera pouch for my LX7. (don't dare to bring out without a proper pouch wor) In the end, didn't find a suitable one. Shall go Funan to see see look look~... Finally gets to go town le, haha!

Back to blogging - temporarily

Just finished the last paper on Wednesday. I find it quite difficult to focus this sem compared to the previous ones. Perhaps due to the IA aftermath effect or the final-year graduation feeling? Or it could be that this semester has too many things going on.

The keyword for now is 'maintain'.

Time to start the FYP works. But I really have too many things on hand!
1. Timetable
2. ICT
3. FYP

Talking about these 3 events already made me lose the whole holiday. :(

On top of that, I've decided to upgrade the current computer OS from Windows XP to Windows 7, but I just realised the iTunes is a big problem. A lot of hassles just to move back everything in place. The desktop is almost full of stuff, got to move them into their respective locations before I start the format.

The Panasonic LX7 camera arrived on Tuesday, just before the elective exam. Lucky me who missed out the US$199 offer on Olympus XZ-1, chanced upon this offer on amazon - US$299 instead of S$700-800. The catch here is that the warranty is not applicable outside US and Canada.

Initially I thought Panasonic left the lens cap strap out of the package. Then I just realised it was stuck together with the neckstrap. How discreet it was!

So far so good, the night shots are quite amazing! F1.4 lens really work wonders. Definitely a leap-and-bound from the old ancient Panasonic DMC-F7 (a 2MP sensor with a 2X optical zoom camera). Have a lot of things to learn from this camera.

Some thoughts:
I guessed we were rather in a small shock when you posed me the question - nobody has expected this, neither I did, 場面還蠻尷尬的. I did mention about the dates clashing, but nothing is confirmed yet mah. Good to know that you're in a better state than me. It showed a lot from you that how you look at the matter. That could explain certain behaviors.

Even people whom you seldom interacted with or even your generation, got it. So it's natural that I set certain expectations, but I'm just slightly disappointed. Feels like being isolated somehow now. It's not until now then I discover the reality. It's not difficult to guess the rest, who were present, were talking about me. Anyway, I could not make it at the end if things turned out otherwise - in a positive way. Just feel the urge to vent out the 無奈感.

Shall continue to clear the backlog as I try to recall past events.
