As usual, went to school at 9.30 am for a lecture starting at 10.30 am with a kind of relunctant feeling - CNY withdrawal effects. But what really surprised me was that while was waiting for 179, saw this person... very familiar... walking towards the bus berth - it's Kenneth Ow!
He's also surprised to see me. Afterall, we go to the same university one mah, just that last time we could really bumped into each other in school but coz we don't know each other so we were strangers. But what he's doing here?! Shouldn't he on IA programme?
He asked me if I'm going for ICT this July. Duh, still want to defer meh? Of course go and quickly settle la. I want quality time spent meaningfully rather than go IPT/RT hor. Want exercise also will do it OTOT, not being forced into IPT/RT leh.
After some chats, he told me his IA is at the Innovation Centre, NTU now. He just got back SG yesterday from holiday in Japan - in other words, he spent his CNY in Japan with family and sister I presume. Saw the paper bag he's holding likely contains the gifts bought in Japan.
Told him what I'm gonna do after finish everything in NTU - graduation trip to Korea, he knows I'm a fan of running man and asked if can see running man casts during filming on Mondays typically. I told him if I could get hold of the schedule, i.e. filming location and time then can consider go mah. Also told him he can go if he wants and I could assist him by giving a bit of advices.
Then shared with him about my opinions of final year in uni. It's definitely busy with assignments, presentations and quizzes on top of the FYP and told him to enjoy his IA lol. He asked which part of Malaysia did I spend my CNY. I was puzzled why so many SGrean would want to know, it turns out that his GF has relatives in Malaysia and he wants to see if it's the same place. Anyway answered him that he wouldn't know if I told him.*Somehow everybody seems interested where I spend CNY, where I come from, but they won't know where is Seremban~ Baituo* Maybe next time would tell him the exact place? Lol...
More into his IA, he's doing some sales/business kinda job in a company started-up not long ago (that's why it's Innovation Centre mah, James also working there after he grad from Dec last year), not very engineering or technical or something I would have expected. That is to say he would need to move about to meet clients rather frequently and even on weekends. Oh no... Got off then still not too bad mah.
Although it's day 3 of CNY, but I was a bit shocked by the vulgarities he used. I mean I know he also used them in NS, just that meeting outside for the first time and now CNY he carried on using it seems to be a tad surprising for me. Not very nice mah... Perhaps it's to make us feel resonant, bonded and not distanced? But it's by no means he's being offensive to me, coz the words were not referring to me. Said final year result should stabilised liao, so can fuck it lah. *But I can't coz the cGPA is at borderline le* Then when talking about his IA, he used knn to why he's doing business when he should be doing engineering works. *Ok I have nothing to comment except to say it's an experience to him lo* But these are nothing compared when he was inside army, even more kz lo. Aiyo~
Usually during CNY or meeting face-to-face, people won't use vulgarities mah and only during NS would people use it. During normal times, it could be understood because people do have frustrations at times, and it doesn't matter between genders, females do use it too.
Anyway, hope to meet soon. Have to study hard and work hard in the upcoming weeks le~
