Universal Studios Singapore

I'm not those kind who likes theme parks a lot, but seeing HH so begging me to go, gave it a try. Went to the newest tourist attraction in Singapore today with NT, PG, HH, ZX, SL. Oh well, firstly, I have to say it's not bad. Now here comes the detailed review.

Overall, the park is divided into sections with different themes, such as Madagascar, Sci-fi, etc. which I think is quite good. You get to see different kinds of buildings and decorations in different sub-parks.

On the part of rides, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Because I have taken similar rides somewhere else. So IMO the park is NOT really worth that admission price of $66 (before 20% discount of course). Very disappointed with that 'dinosaur' ride, completed in less than 1 min. Genting Highlands has a similar one, but it's much more exciting.

And sorry to HH, I did not take the 'Human' and 'Cylon' roller coaster. These 2 roller coasters look fun, but are not suited to weaker hearts like me. No matter how many excuses you use to convince me to take them. :\ Well, hard to find a compromise la...

On the mummy roller coaster. Actually the most scary part is not the turning and dropping and ascending in the dark. The scary part is before this, where it will sudden accelerate you in a straight line and stop it before the obstacles and then within 10 seconds, it will accelerate in reverse fashion and some little descend before it turns you in the forward orientation and finally starts the high speed part of the ride. I must say this is quite creative on the design part. But the turning and ups and downs in the dark like makes no connection to the 'mummy' and pyramid la. This roller coaster has already taken its attack on me liao. I was in a little shock and jelly legs after the ride. Not to mention that 14-storey high 'human' and 'cylon' roller coaster lor. :(

On the other hand, Canopy Flyer is quite a new thing and it's not that slow also! Maybe could have made the trip longer to enjoy the scenery up there la. Then the simulation of hurricane and the water show was quite good in my opinion, I'm always get drenched one la. Hmm, to experience the real thing lor.

One last thing: OMG! A lot of Indian tourists la! =.=

After which, the USS was closed down for some private event (which I only knew after I got home that got some super big celebrities invited to that event). So we went to Vivo's Carls Jr for dinner. Then start that forever-addictive 三國殺!Nice game by the 5 of them :)

Liar Game: The Final Stage

Waited quite long for this liao. Finally I got the chance to finish off the series (yeah, the story in manga will just continue and it's like non-stop).

As usual, I always LOLed whenever the characters inside lost the round and they kinda gone berserk. But well, this works in manga drawings but not so good in real life on screen. Super 誇張表情.

The storyline was not bad that I could grasp for most of the time. Always loved how Akiyama-san pwned the rest of the players. Surprised that the naive Kanzaki Nao could win at the very end of the game when the game required you to be deceptive. Ironic, isn't it?

One thing I learnt from all these is that, the timing and sequence of events played a very important role in the games. For example, being the first and last to vote makes a difference though. It takes you to find the loopholes and exploit it.

Just as I wanted to conclude everything as perfect, I noticed one major flaw which did not make sense in me. Is it because this movie has nothing to do with the TV drama series? But this suggested otherwise lor.

Long long time since my last update

A million apologies for no update for this past 3 months. Have been really busy with school work since end Jan.

A lot of people told me that out of this 4-year university course, it's the 2nd semester of the year 2 which was the most harsh. Practically, I think it's quite true.

I have 5 core modules, 1 lab module, 1 Design-and-Innovation Project. 20 AUs in total. Not even 1 AU can be S/U opted.

Compared this semester to my year 1's 2nd semester (which happened to be 20 AUs also), I would say this semester is much worse off. Mainly because of the project module.

It's a 3-AU module, but you're required to spend at least 6 hours per week doing projects. Well, I think it's quite time consuming.

Then the core modules were very content intensive, compared to the modules taken last semester. All in all, these worked against me.

So practically, I just went to school to self study 7 days per week after CNY. Really no choice, if you ask me. Hence, no updates on blog. There's nothing to talk about during this period too.

But things might change from today onwards. :)
