Few days never update blog le. Had been super busy with outings everyday. Now will blog the events for each day.

20/11/2008 Thursday

Don't know what the hell is with him? My DA became on leave application rather than off application. =.= People play games let them play games la, they already excluded me out well before the games when it's under registration period. Have I known this, I wouldn't come on that day. So much for the trouble. =.=

Went down to remove the stitches around the wisdom tooth wound. It was fast. Will do a write up on wisdom tooth surgery adventures.

Then headed over to YS's house since he was so despo wanting people to visit him. Okay lor, I just go see how powerful is his new computer.

Indeed his computer was powerful! No lag and NSF all series can run well on it. Wow... But I sucked at playing FPS (1st person shooting) games. For goodness sake, don't let me play la, I kena shot also don't know from where de.

After that, we exchanged to see each other's exclusive photos before I finally go home. Woodlands MRT station is like Boon Lay No. 2 la... Look at the crowds... =.=

21/11/2008 Friday

Woke up slightly later because today just need to report at Fort Canning Park at 9am. The MRT was super crowded.

By Lakeside station, the MRT can be said crowded liao and by JE station, not all passengers can come in. Somemore, the frequency of the trains was quite high lor. The best train frequency in the world is in Moscow, with a 90-sec frequency. Hope our MRT can does that.

I was on time. K9 made up the huge bulk of the group visiting national heritage lor. =.= So supportive. People like Samuel, Geraint, Weilong, Danesh, Jason, Yat Kan, Francis, Zheng Yang, Zhi Yong, Terence, new guys, etc... attended.

What's the disgusting part was that Yat Kan had a lift from his home to Fort Canning! What the hell!

The tour was very entertaining and educational. Really, it was not boring, maybe the video bah. And the trip was worth it. =) Those on leave or dismount too bad for them. =p

After the tour, played some games. Was so proud with the ground sheet turnover, completed the game in just under 4 mins. Taboo was sucky, the words were so difficult to explain. Longest link we actually 放水 la... No point taking out shoelace and tying back again. So troublesome.

Had lunch at The Legends after everything. The lunch was high class buffet. I bet each person would cost at least $20. It's the best meal I've ever had from XXX.

The food was super nice! I liked the roast chicken. And the fried prawn mee can instantly became pasta just a few spoons of cream gravy. =.= There was pizza, raw oysters and smoked salmons. Ice Kacang you have to make it yourself and pastry was nice... I liked the blueberry cheese cake.

The service was super efficient. The moment you finished your food and got up to get more food, the waitress would come and clear the table for you. This one I must praise them. Good job done.

Dismissed from the restaurant. Went to PS nearby with Zheng Yang, Yat Kan, Francis, Danesh and Zhi Yong. Samuel and Geraint left early. Then went home after that to change to camera phone for the evening event. =)

Arrived at Raffles Place at 6pm, together with Leon. Waited for Weilong and Edmund and we settled our dinner with subway. Samuel absent because he vomitted and diarrhoea 6 times. =.= Ate too much?

Tandoori chicken was nice. But I don't really like the double chocolate cookie made yesterday. It was not crunchy but rather soft and felt soaky.

The concert... well, I'm not into those Christian and Christmas stuff, so I treated this concert as something which I can relieve stress or rather something to blog about. New experience mah... =)

I think I've heard Kenny making the tone/pitch mistake. But then it was still an awesome show.

After the concert, the whole 7 of us + Kenny went to nearby Lau Pa Sat for supper as initiated by Jia Yun. The food there was average only, pricing like air-con food court. But it was not air-conditioned!

Then climbed into Timo's car and we headed towards The Tea Party Cafe @ Sixth Ave there to chill. Ordered pizzas, wedges and a mug of 'Sweet Apple'. The roasted duck pizza was nice. Wedges were fresh from the frying oil. The drink was refreshing, not too much on sugar and the taste. $9 per pax.

Played games there, namely Uno, dai dee and Taboo. I sucked at Taboo =.=... Instead of verbally giving the hint to the keywords, I acted. Words like 'bang', 'mini skirt' and 'saxophone' became the classic examples la. OMG! It was so much easier for me to act rather than to speak in English? I wonder if I could explain in Chinese. But Leon couldn't understand Chinese. =.=

Played until 1am then Timo sent me home. Thanks Timo!

19/11/2008 Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa 马达加斯加2

*Bought a white SE W910i for $358, but it's not mine! Haha!

Morning did some compulsory body check up with Joseph before I really go off on 12th next month. Overall, it's super smooth and fast.

Took half day off just for this movie.

Went out with Edmund and Leon for a hotpot lunch @ suntec. $11.90+++ was fulfilling. The chicken soup base at the end was filled with all taste from meats, balls and prawns. It was nice. The pastry also nice. But the 麻辣 soup base was a bit too oily and it's very 呛！

Cheung Jie joined in at the end of the lunch. Walked around the fountain of wealth 3 rounds hoping my wish can come true. (Shh! Cannot tell what wish I have la!)

After that, went to a pet shop to see the rabbits. At the same time, searched for ideas for dog treats. Nowadays, dogs are leading goof lifes liao. Treats like french fries or jelly just for the dogs also have. Kudos to the Japanese.

Then after that had ice cream at Shaw Tower. $3.40 for two flavours, oreo cheesecake and summer berries. Nice! The service was the best I've ever seen. Superb! Left a sticky note on the notice board. Hehe~


The Movie
It was entertaining. 5.10pm show at Grand Cathay. Worth $6. Below is the list of people watched:

A little tiger who was captured by the hunters into a small crate box accidentally travelled to New York. After which, he and other animals got escaped and transported back to Africa where they realised is their homeland. The tiger found his parents back but lost the title as the lion king. One day, the animals discovered there was no water to survive. The tiger together with his father saved the animal kingdom.

Trivials
1. The hippo was super cute and her laughter is like... OMG, 会让人又笑又起鸡皮疙瘩…… Don't know how to describe the laughter.

2. The penguin was so obsessed with the wooden toy which he treated it as his girlfriend. In the end he married 'her'!

3. The movie mentioned that human build dams to have water supply. So in the movie, the water shortage problem was solved by destroying the dam. Moral of the story? 动物无辜还是人类自作自受？

4. Hippo and giraffe love is so impossible la!

16/11/2008 Vertical Marathon 2008!

Had a great climb today!

All thanks to SK who coordinated us to take part - helped us filled in the application form and also helped us to pay first.

$35. It was not cheap. But it's worth for a whole new experience.

Before the race...
Woke up super early this morning, think around 7.30am. Set out around 8.25am. When driving along AYE near Alexandra, saw T. He was driving super fast lor. Never mind, continued my smooth and safe journey to town.

Then while exiting at Rochor Road from ECP, saw Joseph's car. This time round, I decided to follow after him. Called him and asked where he wanted to park. I wanted to park at Aldephi, but I don't know the parking rate today was by entry or by hourly. Never mind, let Joseph be the guniea pig. Haha!

Then Kenny called, saying the 3 of them wanted to deposit the baggage in the car. Ok lor. Let them deposit.

After that, saw Chionh and SK. They took part in the competitive category bah...

As there was still ample time from the starting time for Men's Open, decided to walk around. But those people didn't bring phone along, the group of us broke into 2 groups. =.= And it's hard to find them lor. =.=

Race started...
They separated us into groups of 6. T, R, Joseph, Shi Hao, me and Edmund in 1st row. Samuel, Zheng Yang and Yat Kan in 2nd row. Jia Yun and Kenny in 3rd row.

As soon as we lined up to the starting point, SK kept shouting K9! K9! What the hell la, made us felt so embarrassed and Samuel and Yat Kan still wear the shirt. OMG!

The first 10 storeys... It was still ok, they were bursting with power la even for Joseph. Climbing 2 steps at a time. I already began to feel the thing liao.

Next 20 storeys... I began to walk up normally.

Next 40 storeys... I even slowed down. Stopped to take some breath and pictures. And also waited for Shi Hao since I promised to complete the marathon with him.

Last 3 storeys, me and Shi Hao began to move faster. The last stretch at roof top, we practically ran. Completing the stair climbing in 18m 4s (1084s).

Had some cam-whoring at the roof top. The view of Singapore was spectacular! I suppose the night view can be even better!

Had hot pot for lunch at Marina Square. Not too bad given the servings and the price was quite economical. Buffet seems quite good to me. Can try there next time.

Sent Kenny and Shi Hao home. Then transferred some ORD dinner photos to his computer and then koped some photos from him too. My computer seriously is becoming a resource centre liao.

Before I left, Shi Hao played piano for me. Wow, never expect he could play piano so well!

Some trivials:
1. I was 1 of the last to complete the race. Lol... partly it was because I waited for Shi Hao to complete the race together.

2. Based on the facts and figures, 1 step = 0.808s. 1 storey = 14.85s. Gained 133kJ of potential energy. Exerted 122.7 W of power.

3. Should have slept a little longer than home =.= Registration lasted 1.5 hours from 9.15am and race start time was after 11am.

4. Surprised that even Zheng Yang who always looked no energetic type 1 can complete the thing w/o me overtaking him.

5. Before the race started, Jia Yun and I went to the Malaysian registered car parked opposite us. Don't know what make and model for that, but it was definitely a luxurious car. The road tax per year was over RM23K!

6. After the race, as we were walking towards the car park. We saw mass wedding outside supreme court. Took a photo of it.

Fairs, fairs, fares, fares!

Woke up early to make it to the outing with Peng Guan - 9.50am at Clementi MRT. Haiz... The one who said 9.50am was late lor!

Went to West Coast Plaza to claim some vouchers there. $100 leh! But after I've seen the vouchers liao, only Fish & Co. and the Sushi Tei ones can be used. Others are beauty/facial related. OMG

Took the shuttle bus back to Clementi central there, had lunch there too. Lor Mee was not bad, but PG seriously was not tired of bee hoon. =.= Train-ed down to suntec to meet Wei Xian and Ryan (one of their friends la). Wei Xian bought a 42" Philips LCD TV. Rich kia huh~

Walked around suntec. Very funny de lor, the food fair and electronic fair shared the same convention centre. I thought nowadays the electrical appliances so powerful and advanced ah, can give out food fragrance de. =.=

Climbed up to 6th floor. There's book fair going on... A lot of fairs hor, why no funfair? Why this world is so unfair? Lol... Bought some pens.

Crossed over to Marina Square to satisfy PG's addiction for arcade games. Haha...

Then went back to the food fair to fill my stomach before I had my medicine. Japanese pizza was as usual, but it was more worth than the takoyaki. But the uncle in front of me... OMG... 做莫酱缺德的？He threw the waste plastic bag which contained used small paper bag onto the styrofoam box which was going to be used to put the Japanese pizza for next customer. 我看到直接傻眼.

Then PG had his fried durian. Nice la.

While we were strolling and squeezing among the crowds around, I saw Tze Kian! He walked past Peng Guan and yet Peng Guan didn't noticed it. 不愧我是眼明手快的啦！At first, PG didn't really believe me, but after that we looked at him from a distance, it was HIM alright!

Surprisingly, he came on his own. Didn't see his mother. And we saw him tasting and browsing bottles of wine! Buying wine? We were surprised.

Then went back to citylink to try out the Marvelous Cream (http://www.marvelouscream.com). Bought Strawberry Mille-feuille Castor regular ($6.20) + chocolate waffle bowl ($1.50). It was simply delicious! After checking the website, it was indeed set up by a Japanese with shops all over Japan. The Singapore stall @ citylink is the only outlet outside Japan. Special huh?

12/11/2008 KBox High

It's almost 8 months since I last drove a manual car. LOL... Well, I haven't forget how to drive, it's matter of getting used to it. Somemore, different cars will have different biting points. Only stalled engine once.

Yesterday went out with PG and YS to hoot the cafe cartel student meal promotion. Well the service @ Raffles City was a bit f up. I'll list down 1 by 1.

1. No one came out to the reception point to serve us. It's a walk-in!
2. Had to wait for them to clear the table before we sit down.
3. Handed up our order, no 纸巾 and utensils. Food came before them. =.=
4. Forgot we had free pepsi. But in the end, they gave us 3 cups. LOL

IMM has much better service la, so much so for 10% service charge. It's not I want to complain, if it didn't impose 10% service tax, then I cancel the 4 abovementioned points straight away.

Then went for Kbox. Long time never had a K session le. Sorry Edwin I can't attend K session on 29/10. $14.50 nett with food and free flow coke/sprite. But then 3 hours was pathetic. But then 我们有high到！Especially 爱不疚 and 无心害你. The latter was sang by PG's idol i.e. 关菊英 and the MV contains his favourite SA姨 part. OMG... Haha!

The weather was *#&%*, first time it rained when I'm in Orchard! Haha... But it somehow dampened the feeling to shop. Went for Japanese 串烧 before home sweet home!

ORD请吃算是K9一个没有白底黑字为凭的作风
好像是我本人发起先的

何谓「八星聚宝」？
「八星聚宝」指的是：
1. 于2007年3月26日至2007年4月13日之间从四面八方结识
2. 2007年4月16日来K9入住
3. 于2008年11月或是12月结业
的八位人士。
11月份有4人结业，即Edwin、Yun Zhen、Jansen及Zar。
12月份也有4人结业，即Shi Hao、Saravanan、本人及Joseph。

一般上请吃分为团体跟个人两大类
团体：以多人方式一起请大家吃好料
个人：自由时间自己找人请吃，通常不会请太多人。而且也不是请自己人，一些跟那个人比较好的就有这个优待咯！

直到两月前，他们开始认真起来
去政府大厦的一间韩式餐馆试探环境跟食物
不错是不错
但是肉类真的「有限公司」
跟着Joseph提议另一间在东海岸的韩式餐馆
名叫Ju Shin Jung (주신정)
价钱会贵一点，但是食物还算不错
之后就没有下文

一个礼拜前……
开始紧张起来
提醒Edwin后
给他十一月份哪些日子「八星聚宝」得空的
定11号为吉日
地点接纳Joseph的意见
就是东海岸

当日……
消息传开后
各自帮自己的事情才赴约
交通也是自己安排

驾车载Yat Kan、Edwin、Dominic还有在营的Geraint
到东海岸后
又载Yun Zhen到目的地
我们6人7点到先
就先上楼坐下

之后Joseph跟女友也到了
其他人很迟才来
所以我们就叫菜先

跟着众人一个接一个来到
最后一组人就是Kenny他们五人帮啦
坐下来吃东西
有说有笑
还照相咧
不错一下

这样的情景只有聚会才能见到
平时是不可能遇到的

有些讲是干燃油
有些讲是白粉
后来Josephine解释是纸巾

个人觉得其盛事办得有一点赶
因最后一分钟，很多人好像觉得来不及
不去了

餐馆服务不错
还有人替你烤肉
不须费事自己烤
虽然比较喜欢BBQ那样
自己选购食物，自己点火，自己烤

这一天
怎么感觉很怪？
一方面又开心，一方面又emo
开心，是替他们开心——ORD，也为自己感到开心——自己的时间快要到料
emo，是要离开他们，大家不能天天见面了，可是还是能电话或者MSN联络

就如之前讲的
人总是要失去一样东西时
才发现它的美
到时可能就太迟料

这有可能是跟11月ORD最后一次聚会吗？
应该不会吧？
我跟自己讲接下来大部分都上大学读书，还是有时间出来见面的吧

事后篇
1. 原来这间餐馆西海岸也是有分店，在这里办可能方便多啦！可能大家都不知道吧

2. 11月份结业一共有4人，其中有3个取回蓝登记，有1个的荣衔跟众人不同

3. 这4个人曾经在受训是成双成对的咯，玄到！

4. $480的账单真的ok，就连省吃俭用足不出户的Yun Zhen都没投诉贵

5. 回家看照片后，觉得相机跟手机拍出来的照片还是有差别。相机拍出来的实在太美了，可能我还活在化石代。哈哈！

My batch people start to go 1 after another

Time has finally come.
Well, it's our turn and it's good for them to go first.

First, yesterday was Edwin's turn. He's lucky he didn't kena water parade from us. LOL!

Then, today was Yun Zhen's and Jansen's turn. They were so unlucky that they kena water parade. We poured foam on Jansen. Yun Zhen was worse off, he was poured upon some foam + fur/hair. Then I put a 'scoop' of fur on his head as decoration, super funny sight. LOL...

Next coming up, Zar.

Well, I just hope nothing happens to me on that day. Pray hard!

Remembered some of my friends commented my house as a LAN shop.

In reality, all 4 desktops in my house are wired to the internet thru a wireless router and a modem. But does that mean the computers can play games thru LAN? I don't know lor.

Other than the 4 desktops, there's a company laptop also makes up the computer system in my house.

（雪蘭莪‧加影）吉隆坡及雪蘭莪警方今日（週三，11月5日）凌晨聯手在雙溪龍鎮破獲一組專劫奪名貴房車的匪徒，當場開鎗打死兩名頑抗的匪徒，一名華裔警官還因此受重傷。

全國警察刑事調查總監拿督巴克里再尼在加影警區記者會上這麼指出，被警方擊斃的兩名匪徒是一男一女。女死者黃水蘭（譯音，20歲）外號Ah Moon與兩名男匪徒組成“阿獨”（Atok）黨，警方相信男死者吳金財（譯音，40歲）與黃水蘭是情侶關係，匪黨是以黃水蘭為首。

據瞭解，“阿獨”黨的另一名30逾歲的華裔成員已在兩星期前被警方逮捕，警方根據他所給的口供及市民所提供的資料，才追蹤到其他兩名同黨的行蹤。

此外，警方在匪徒銀色寶馬車上，發現有多把刀子、巴冷刀、斧頭等武器，還有多個懷疑是偽造的汽車車牌及一些車子的鑰匙。

他指出，“阿獨”黨已在吉隆坡及雪蘭莪幹案已有一年之久，但在最近3個月顯得更加活躍，在這兩地劫走共32輛名貴豪華房車，包括有寶馬、豐田嘉美、本田或福士偉根等，總值逾300萬令吉。

據知，“阿獨”黨通常在高級住宅區出沒，每次幹案時，女匪徒都會假裝到事主的家外面詢問事情，由於匪徒是女性，所以事主都會放下戒心，詭計得逞後，兩名同黨就會出現，並以武器威脅事主交出車輛。

“阿獨”黨最後一次幹案是10月10日在蕉賴，當時，匪徒用武器要挾華裔商人交出一輛銀色寶馬，車子就是匪徒所用的銀色寶馬轎車。

Personality test result

Took the test on ORD function on 20 October.

Went down with PG to Manulife @ River Valley Point in the morning to collect my personality test result. A guy called Adrian came to receive us.

Well, the result is about 80-90% accurate. Super accurate! Whatever Adrian analysed from the result script I agreed to full extent.

Some of the things Adrian mentioned are:
1. Good in numbers
2. Technically profiled
3. Extrovert when outside home
4. Thoughtful, cooperative, likes to plan
5. Relationships with others are impt (this 1 applies to friendships too)
6. Passive (I'm slow to warm up to make friends), not very self-motivated, monkey-see-monkey-do
7. Tries to avoid problems through compromises (don't really like to reject others)
8. High quality work generated

All tio. Was amazed by the result. It does pay off for a paid test rather than some free webby personality tests which I find them not very accurate lor. This is the most accurate result I got by far.

*They're so fast in recruiting new staff into their workforce. Now have to consider liao.

Crossed the road to a kopitiam opposite after the interview. $3.30 for a very average meal which you could get for about $2 in kopitiam downstairs lor. But then again, it's River Valley Road...

Travelled back to Clementi, was planning to sing K @ partyworld, but it was closed down. A bit disappointed. Ya, the cinema was demolished to make new building. PG was high on the Cartel + K outing next wed, now he wants to recruit as many people as possible. OMG...

On the way back, saw Zheng Yang at bus stop. Then saw the new guys doing trainings. Things are moving in the right directions now. Relieved.

*Should have made an effort to give Edwin they all a lift since I'm just in the vicinity at that time. Tsk, well forget it. Next time ba.

Updates on ORD dinner
Edwin updated me on the event. He's the organiser, I'm not the organiser, just advisor cum reminder only. Anyway, as long as the place is not a walking distance from my home, I need to borrow the car. Cincai la~ Place is not important, who turns up is more important. Especially the ORD guys, they will be the limelight. Bring the Canon G7 camera along, kat-za here kat-za there. LOL... Haha!

Afternoon tea again!

Today went out with PG to recce the temporary jobs. Well, the experience was okay. But have to keep fingers crossed until I get the job.

Whether I can get the ideal job really depend on 天时地利人和 lor.

After which, we went to the usual hangout place - IMM to chill. This time round, I bought 甜不辣 (tempura) from 士林小吃, basically they are all 鱼饼条... =.=

$3.20.

Then PG craved for 港式甜品, so we went to 茶餐厅 at level 3. Ordered Honeydew sago ice-cream. Nice~

$3.80.

Then we wanted to buy sushi, but then the worker was 收回 all the sushi. So in the end we went to giant. The sushi stall there didn't have what PG wanted. Bought 2pcs of big sushi.

$2.20.

Then we went to JE interchange. There got pasar "malam" (is actually pasar pagi and petang also la). I didn't have anything in mind to buy lor. But then looking at the pasar malam made me think back of the experience I had @ the pasar malam in Ipoh. It's so much better than the pasar malam here, just that they don't have shelter when raining.

PG bought Taiwanese sausage. Don't know why, I always have diarrhoea after eating the Taiwanese sausage from pasar malam. =.=

Then we went to a bakery shop near PG house where I bought chocolate waffle with chocolate toppings. This is damn nice!

$1.40.

Total damage: $10.60.

OMG, just 小吃 alone, I already spent $10.60. 要省钱料！

New LCD added

Yesterday night came in a new member: Samsung 710N 17" LCD monitor.
Ya, I know it's an old model. It's supposed to be an model.
No plan to buy a new one.
$100 for this monitor.

Anyway, the monitor wasn't for me. It's for the Computer 2 in home (a.k.a brother's computer).
I already had my LG L194WTS monitor liao, so this monitor is a downgrade for me haha!

About the monitor
The monitor is a 4:3 (non-widescreen) type. It is 3 years old, with the label stating the monitor was made on February 2005 at Seremban factory in Malaysia. Haha, same hometown leh!

Install it
At 1st, we were disappointed because the CPU doesn't support the latest video output interface (DVI), only can use analog cable to connect to monitor. In the end, we had to go back to exchange for an analog cable with the seller.

1st impression
The monitor was super heavy! Almost like a CRT monitor. Don't know about it's weight though. Build quality was excellent. The monitor looks brighter than mine monitor, but then I don't want the monitor to be too bright for me.

Now left with the last computer still using CRT monitor. When it will change to LCD one? I don't know. But anyway, with this Samsung monitor, the electricity bill will be slightly cheaper lor.

Let's calculate!
The calculation is based on the following assumptions:
1. The monitor works for 10 hours every day.
2. The current electricity tariff is $0.3045/kWh

For my case, I used a Samsung 753DFX CRT monitor before LG L194WTS. So the power consumption reduced from 80W to 34W.
For my brother's case, he used Philips 107Ss CRT monitor before Samsung 710N. So the power consumption reduced from 73W to <34W, but I put 34W for a safe calculation.

Savings for changing from a 73W to a 34W monitor in a month: $3.563
Total savings in a month: $7.765

It's quite a significant amount of savings. It would be more significant if Computer 3 also uses LCD monitor. But then who's going to pay for the LCD monitor in 1st place? I'm not going to fork out the $.

For the Computer 5, it's a laptop, so the power consumption wouldn't be as high as a desktop. LOL~

Few updates here

1. Today went for wisdom tooth extraction surgery. Overall, the process was just expected. No surprise.

2. Saw PG's Penang trip photos and Jordan's Taiwan trip photos on facebook. Made me feel like going to these 2 places too.

3. Sunday's night shift the first part was quite emo for me. But then the 2nd and 3rd part I felt sleepy. Luckily, no event happened. Everything was as usual.

4. Koped a lot of pigtures recently and these pigtures went circulating around and around.

5. Stayed in with Kenny on Sat night. LOL~

6. 07/02 batch ORD dinner now is fixed on 11 November, the day when Jansen and Yun Zhen take their IC back.

7. When is my K-session?!

8. Now the computers in my house are going green too! It is done by changing the old CRT monitors to newer LCD ones. Already 2 out of 4 com are using LCD monitors, with the third one changing today! It is said that LCD consume as much as 50% lesser electricity than the CRT ones.

严重的F1意外！！！Serious F1 accident!!!
