Sentosa outing on 23-9-2006

It was planned more than a month ago. It was initiated by Nancy.

As expected, it was a one-fifth class outing - with only 8 people turned up out of the 41 people in class 301/401.

The past few days were very tiring for me, with those gatherings with different friends. It just made me felt exhausted and tired. What made it worse was that my mobile phone was low on energy. So I had to wake up at 7 in the morning just to get it charged in 2.5 hours time before I went out. I went to sleep again.

This time I woke up at 10. It was so late! I quickly jumped out of bed with the head feeling dizzy and get myself prepared. Took a bath and quickly packed my cd walkman, water bottle and mobile phone accessories, of course. But the most important thing of all was money, I must ensure I had enough money for my expenditure for the day.

Left home at 10.40a.m. I knew I was going to be late. Don't care about those early birds though. haha. Took 335 and saw Sharon boarding the same bus! haha, we began smsing each other and she told me the guy at the front of the bus looked like Yuan Sheng. Does he? I don't think so lor.

Hehe, Huaian and Pui Han were the early birds and Yin Boon was the latest, as usual lar... I'm immuned to it long long ago! We had our economical Japanese cuisine at Kobayashi @ JE. I had scramble noodle pizza. I found the taste had a strong smell of the noodle, but anyway, it cost only $3.90 and included a drink.

Then initially Huaian wanted to call off the Sentosa outing, but we resisted and insisted we want to go. Haha, any place far away is always good for us, I don't know why. I think it is our nature to think that we should explore faraway places rather than those we always visit lor... In the end, we went Sentosa as planned.

Nancy was discovered to be sleeping at the time we called her and she promised to join us for dinner. In the end she never turn up. The thing is she really wanted to join us for dinner but we did not call her to wake her up?!

Pui Han was a lunatic - she kept singing 燃烧吧.... I think she has fallen in love with that song. But nonetheless, she's very entertaining! Don't say I did not even say a good thing about you okay?! So we were in the MRT and we were the loudest lot, we just chatted everything under the sun and this Pui Han would suddenly burst out something ridiculous out of the blue. LOL we laughed of course.

Sentosa is always seen with foreign tourists happily strolling and taking pictures around the attractions and the local youngsters just occupy the nice beach, to enjoy the sun, to play games, or to relax.

Of course we went there to enjoy ourselves and the warm-hearted Huaian was hoping that we could chalk up some money out so that we could buy a volleyball. I think it was Huaian who wanted to play beach volleyball but the rest don't want. In the end he forked out $28.50 to purchase the volleyball which we used to play a horrific game that lasted for less than 5 minutes. It must be a sad case for Huaian lor... haha

Saw S28 also having an outing.

Then we soaked our legs with seawater. Wow, it was very very cooling. I just like the sensation. That's it.

The girls bought ice cream and they nicely treated me with a tiny mouthful of the individual flavours. Of course the ice cream were nice when you could have bought a tub of 1.5 litres for the same price. Next time I should try out myself. Heheh...

We took the Skyride just for fun. It cost $4 for one-way and $6 for return. We bought the return tickets and I was enjoying the scenery while the others were complaining about the height and the 'open concept' of the cable car. Meng How was threating to shake our gondola while Yin Boon grabbed and exerted so much pressure on Huaian's hands that it almost turned into zebra's skin. LOL.

On our way back, I saw one of the shoes has fallen off. Felt pity for the woman though.

After that, we crossed the bridge at Palawan and went up the observation tower which looked like the Twin Tower of Sentosa. The view over the south of Singapore was great and we took the opportunity to take a group photo.

Played Big 2. Then came Sinyi! She looked so joyful upon joining us! haha...

Initiated to have Japanese cuisine and majority agreed with me. We had dinner at Sakae Sushi, I ordered Ten Don for $8.90. It was nice as exclaimed by the others lor. I think they were jealous of my set meal. haha...

Yuan Sheng came and immediately he took out his newly purchased DSLR and we took photos happily. haha...

Watched muscial fountain at 8.40p.m. and then Yin Boon almost fainted. Oh, I think she felt uncomfortable by the continuous flashing light and the laser. But never mind, that was the end of our outing and we head our homes after this.

Really enjoyed going out with you guys!

22-9-2006 Another outing

Woke up quite early (9 in the morning) just to get myself prepared as someone was coming to my house later.

And then a phone call came in at ten-something and I was stunned.

The guest would only come at noon. It was him who made me woke up early and it was him who wanted to be late. Reason? Overslept.

Nonetheless, spent our time browsing through images and videos and a while chatting. Then we head for McDonald's for lunch in the mid-afternoon.

I ordered 'Fan-tastic' set meal. Don't call me outdated, okay?! I seldom have fast food at McDonald's and the fan-tastic was an expensive meal to me. The set meal cost me $6.20. Upon settling my tooth over the burger, I could expect the taste to be quite different. In fact, it has been a mystery for the taste. I found the rice tasted funny, partly because I'm not used to it and because it consisted of mushroom.

Me and my friend took a walk to Jurong Point since we were so full. Just exercise for the good and you saved money!

Jurong Point is forever bustling with crowds, mainly teenagers hanging out arcades, cinemas... It is no wonder it was voted to be the best neighbourhood shopping centre in Singapore in a survey conducted by The Straits Times. Haha, but the truth is, it offers a lot more than other shopping malls and I heard that it would undergo expansion.

Then we sat down at Kopitiam at the third storey and had some beverages. I had iced milo. $1.50 is expensive because I could make a similar one at home at a much cheaper cost. LOL

Came another friend at around five plus. So he and the guest went to buy dinner. I was so full - I didn't have my dinner. Ha, can save money again. Then after that, we went to watch the movie 'The Haunted Apartment'. It is a Japanese horror film which tell the story of a haunted building. The residents living there had suffered depression where they have to abide a set of strange and ridiculous rule. For example, every single resident has to cross over the white line and get within the building premise before every midnight.

Want to move out? Sure, but you need to get a new resident moving in before you can move out.

The production crew chose to film at the real site - that is the building said to be haunted in Japan and the effect was really errie. The whole building appeared worn out because it was an old building.

Strange things happened. Firstly, the child kept going horizontally on the floor in a systematic manner without any external force. Secondly, soldiers appeared on the scene. Why they appear? Is it because the old man had abandoned them while on war and escaped from death and now they came back for revenge? Or simple because just to pass the time? Not very logical here.

Then one family just do not heed the advice and they moved out of the building when it was not the time. Therefore at midnight of that day, they were dead.

After that, the female lead decided to explore on her own and attempted to break the curse and she succeeded! Of course, the other residents move out at once. lol, the corpse was like disfigured and it doesn' look scary. I think the ghost looked scarier. lol. The whole story ended when the female lead felt pity for her and decided to stay forever with the corpse.

Kbox on 20 Sep

Immediately after the F Maths paper, rushed home to take a shower and then meet up with Chee Chuan at Jurong Point at 12.15 p.m.

Tour around Jurong Point. Bought nothing. Without knowing we were supposed to be late.

Yida was even more late. We arrived at Jurong East earlier than him! Haha, what a joke! The irony was that he lives nearer to JE MRT station than we do and he took his own sweet time strolling to the meeting point.

Had Japanese food and then we head for Kbox.

The kbox session was nice! They did not chase us out. We didn't know Yida had recorded our voices into mp3 format for more than 2 hours (a whopping 131MB) and when I listened to it the next day, I was laughing at myself for the awful noise.

*P/S: I was praised by Sharon for making a good start of the song 理想情人 by 杨丞琳. It makes me feel I want to frequent kbox more often!

Preliminary Examination

Sounds so strict, isn't it. I shan't discuss too much on it.

Day 1: GP P1 was worse than the mock common test. Basically, I think I wrote out of point. P2 was worse than paper 1 as I did not finish the AQ, it is worth 8 marks. F Maths was alright, couldn't do complex number, I just don't like the roots of unity. Other concepts of complex number are alright. And then spotted typo error in the paper, does it spell good news for me? I don't know.

Day 2: Physics P1 was easy. P2 was managable, but I would expect some mistakes and couldn't do some small parts which require good explanations.

Day 3: Mathematics P1. Quite easy though some mistakes again! Saw wrongly!

Day 4: Chemistry P3 was toughest of all! Couldn't finish everything and some questions did wrongly. Partly because I see wrongly again! =.=

Day 5: Physics P3. Black out at the very last 10 minutes. Dots....

Day 6: Mathematics P2. Mechanics was quite challenging, statistics was alright but still see the value wrongly. =.=

Day 7: Chemistry P1 and P2. P2 was easy but P1 was not.

Day 8: F Maths P2. Left out the question on chi-squared distribution based on normal distribution. The part on exponential distribution couldn't do.

The prelim ended.

Update 2

Me sneaked out of Singapore for a very short holiday during the duration from 2 Sep to 5 Sep

At Genting Highlands, I watched the magical show Mysteria. Nice show but felt pity for the tigers. They merely appeared at the stage for less than 5 minutes. It was f.o.c.

Then I bought lollipop. Don't laugh at me okay?! Took few days to finish eating the piece of sugar.

Don't accuse me of not studying for my preliminary examination. I brought physics notes to study - and really studied!

Photo time!

More-than-a-month update

I have been lazy to blog for the past 30 odd days.
In the following consecutive posts, I will update on various events which happened to me so to satisfy your desire to update yourself constantly.

31-8-2006 Teacher's Day Celebration
Woke up at usual time for the day and changed into the custom-designed Yoga Mass Display T-shirt. The funniest thing of all is that the logo was printed 90 degrees to the left! Haha! Then came the dark clouds, followed by rain. The rain was big initially but gradually it got smaller and smaller and eventually stopped. So we did yoga on the school field and at the same time we were praying that the lightning doesn't strike us (as there was lightning). Fortunately, no one was hurt.

After that we got very excited and very high (we didn't fall lar!), so we threw our caps and threw the renowned 'yoga master' high up to the sky. Haha, it was a funny sight.

After that it was concert time. Nothing much to talk about except some funny scenes. Quite boring anyway and I was busying playing games on the mobile phones.

The concert was super long and I was yearning to end it off immediately. Met up with ex-huayians and we jolly strolled back to our alma mater to visit our teachers. Chin Chin and Vincent appeared while Yin Boon was better off with sleeping. We chatted a lot with Mrs Siow and she wanted to see our good results when we receive next year. Feeling pressurized by her few words, how could I score all distinctions?

Don't care about that, I would never meet her expectations - except mathematics.

We head for Jurong Point's KFC for lunch and then decided to play pool at the 5th floor. Sadly, the attendant strongly refused to allow us into the premise - simply because of the school long pants wore by Huaian. Haha, it's a sad thing though. We thought we would be undiscovered. The K-pool @ Jurong Point is a new branch which started its business only few months ago. But would prefer Jurong East's K-pool. The uncarpeted floor of K-pool @ Jurong Point made it seems small. What if a ball projects off the table? The sound generated by the hitting ball and the floor would be loud, I think.

Never mind about the K-pool - we decided to play baskeball at my college. The rain in the morning made the whole game more tricky. We had difficulty holding the ball with the suitable grip and prevent the ball from rolling off the court area was a big business. I think we spent more time chasing the ball than shooting it. I even had cuts on my knee area as I was chasing after the ball. The mischievous stained ball made our T-shirt and pants dirty and we looked funny.

Tired from the game.
