Class 3C practical lessons
Shall touch a bit on my practical lessons.
So far had taken 2 practical lessons... All involved turning, moving off and braking.
I found that there was improvement in the 2nd lesson compared to the 1st one. Like less engine stalling...
LOL... Saw Jia Ling there too... She was also taking Class 3, but in stage 3 liao lor. lol

Bokgo Dance is a Korean dance.
It's Bae Seul Gi （裴涩琪）who started the trend... as early as 2005. It's not easy to master the moves though and she can do it quite nicely. The following video is an extract from the Korean variety show 'Love Letter'

Sharing Session Part 2
Actually I own Discman earlier than a handphone.
Reason is very simple, the maintenance fee for handphone is much higher than a Discman.
In the past, Discman is much more common than MP3 player. But now, MP3 players are replacing Discman as a device for listening to music. With the help of handphones, MP3 players are even more penetrating among the teens.
But one thing MP3 players cannot replace a Discman is the sound quality it delivers. Reason being: MP3 files are compressed audio files while Discman just plays the music out of an audio disc, the quality is the best out there. Compressed audio files will result in loss of sound quality. Consider this with JPEG (compressed image files) vs RAW formats. The huge difference is there!
My first Discman is a Sony made D-465 model. This Discman is quite trustworthy as it lasted for 7-8 years. It was bought in 1997 for $288. Expensive huh? It has a 20 sec Electronic Shock Protection (ESP) function and up to 40 hrs playback on 4 AA alkaline batteries. The device only provides 2 battery bays on the machine itself, and provides an assessory whereby you put in another 2 batteries into the connector and connect it to the device, forming a parallel circuit inside.
I like its clean layout and most of the buttons are hidden under the "Discman" cover, which is a slider. Also it boasts a mechanical volume control mechanism, unlike the digital one.
The headphone that comes with D-NE 700 had much worse than MDR-E838 in term of build quality and sound quality. After it spoiled, I bought my first noise-cancelling headphone in October 2005 for $58.90. It was Panasonic RP-HJE50.
Heard from reviews that is a good headphone. Compared to Sony-EX51/EX71 (those come with Sony Ericsson phones), it has much lesser bass content, good on mid-range and treble - the Sony ones are just too bassy. More expensive but it provides better qualities lor... Nothing to shout about when it is made in China.
When compared to those normal type ones, those normal type ones are just crap. I would choose noise-cancelling headphones again...

The headphone provided on D-465 is very bad for comfort and sound quality. So I bought Sony headphone MDR-E838 for $29.90 in March 2003. Made in Japan. It is a normal type of headphone. Sound quality not too bad, i.e. acceptable. I stopped using it after D-465 died.

Little update on Class 3 course
So far so good...
Completed the four theory lessons, passed my Basic Theory Test...
Now pending is the Final Theory Test which is fixed on 10 October 2007.
Final Theory is a lot harder than Basic Theory. Actually it is not harder but the thing makes it 'harder' is the amount of information you need to know.
Today took FT evaluation and BTT.

But never mind, I went to book the immediate next session. This time I got 98%... Haha... Actually I didn't REALLY studied for it la... Anyhow answer according to common sense. (or is it I don't have common sense?)

Live ammo found in drain
Interesting news... From Malaysia's New Straits Times (www.nst.com.my)
SEREMBAN: More than 1,000 rounds of live ammunition and casings were found in a drain in Phase 5 of Seremban Jaya, near Senawang, yesterday.
The find in the metre-deep drain was made at 9.20am by several passers-by who alerted the police.
Policemen collected the bullets and casings and took them to the Senawang police station.
The ammunition and casings, identified as that used in a semi-automatic weapon, were believed to have been dumped in the drain the previous night.
Police are now scrambling to check whether the ammunition was standard issue for any of the security forces in the country.
However, sources said it was likely that the ammunition was dumped in the drain by criminal elements.
A source said investigators were baffled as to why anyone would dump the ammunition, especially in a public place.
State CID chief ACP Huzir Mohamad urged witnesses to contact the nearest police station.

Then the tremor got bigger in intensity, I felt I was shaking as well. To confirm, I sat on the floor and 100% confirm it IS an earthquake tremor...

The quake was strongly felt in the capital Jakarta, some 600 kilometres away, with tall buildings swaying.
An official at the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said a tsunami warning had been issued.
Indonesia was the nation worst hit by the earthquake-triggered tsunami of December 2004, which killed some 168,000 people in Aceh province alone.

Today is another sien day for me...
Visited strangers' blogs... which provoked some thoughts in my mind. Actually they're not really strangers la... just my friend's friends..
LOL... Quite a few of them jotted down something somehow related to NS. For me leh... nothing ever changes. Those went through BMT with me will know best. LOL... Quite a failure to adapt? or I'm just not suitable to be a soldier? To me, NS is like a series of lessons and lectures, there're lots of knowledge for you to absorb. Some of these can be used in outside world - they're useful...
The funny thing is that, it isn't those NS trainings which fill up the gaps during this time, but those little, funny, humourous or even soul-inspiring events and incidents or even words. Will always remember these.
Even now, it's still thrilling and funny to flash back those incidents. And I always like to share about with my friends who also know about them.
Aiya, what am I talking now? This entry is like going nowhere liao...
Coming up will be my sharing session... Will put up pictures of things which I own. I guess it would be quite interesting when I come back to read in say about 3-5 years' time ba?

Kbox outing!!!
It's been a long time since I hold onto a mic and sing along to the tune liao.
This kbox was ultra special to me lor as I no need to pay a single cent for it. Also it was special for Sharon since it's her last K session before flying to China for her internship (whatever ship lar... i only know scholarship, friendship and the real ships lar).
The details are given below:
Date: 1 September 2007 (Saturday)
Venue: Clementi Kbox branch
Attendance: Sharon, Yin Boon, Chee Chuan a.k.a. CC (=P), ME
Time: 2 - 7pm
Cost: $77.68 (or $25.90 per pax when divided among 3 people)
Song sang: S.H.E, Jay Chou, Stefanie Sun plus many others
As usual, Yin Boon was late... Haiz... Immuned to it liao...
But then again, I dislike (not hate as I have the patience) people to be late for anything. Most of the time I'm always punctual, if not earlier. Having habit of lateness does not reflect good on you lor.
One thing can be improved is that they can provide 1 additional mic, since some of the rooms were vacant.
I quickly took over the remote controller and started selecting my songs lar, those S.H.E ones... Then Sharon chose Stefanie Sun's songs while Chee Chuan picked Jay Chou's songs. Then the selected songs were reshuffled in the list, if not each of us can sing until sore throat.
Likewise to what Sharon did to me, I'll do an analysis to our singing 吧!
Sharon: 翻版孙燕姿! Just because she has a bit of 鼻音 and 沙音, that's why when she sang Stefanie Sun's songs, the feeling was there. Rapping and 合音 are her strengths as well. Easily heard from S.H.E's works.
Yin Boon: As usual, volume is a bit soft (or my singing too loud?)... Then most likely she picked those songs she liked, like 再别康桥、Lydia、围巾 etc.
Chee Chuan: Don't know why, but he loves Jay Chou's songs so much. I'd find a bit 腻 if I keep singing his songs at one go. Not to bash Jay Chou though. Then he would put in 101% effort into Jay's songs. The result? The effect sounded quite similar to original form but far from Jay's distant feel. Duet songs are also his favourites. However the main highlight was 小情歌.
Benjamin: Junk. Off key, cannot high pitch were the spoilers.
LOL enough of those craps...
Dinner was settled at SUMO HOUSE... Had a craving for Japanese food mah... Not too bad... but better if only they could change the weird soy sauce to mayonnaise.
After that, had window shopping at those night market a.k.a pasar malam... In real, not a pasar malam since some stalls operate from morning 的. LOL
There's a dount stall near MacDonald's. But I find Dount Factory more attractive since their dounts look bigger with the same price tag. LOL... But one thing bad about DF is that they have raised the donut prices!!! In line with GST or business is too brisk??? Now you have to part $12.50 for 12 donuts, a $1.50 more.
TRIVIA: Also attended K session with Peng Guan, Jordan, Yong Sheng and 马沙鸡 on 17 August 2007. I think my BMT mates can be crazy over anything lor. LOL... This is what I conclude after observing you all for so long. LOL... I have proof to prove 的噢!
1. They queued up to buy donuts @ DF. Seems nothing ya? But read on... Yong Sheng, who was actually influenced by me, Peng Guan and his commander, in turn influenced and convinced Jordan into buying donuts. Haiz... Can eat up 18 out of 24 donuts bought... Scary huh??? His favourite is double chocolate donut.
2. During K session, they brought those donuts in and ate them as lunch. OMG!!!哪有人这样吃的？What an expensive lunch! Before that, they sat on the staircases and ate like nobody business. LOL...
3. Peng Guan was so high that he broke the glass mug... What happened to you that day har??? Funny sight, I should've record it into a video. :P
4. As usual, we are from the beach club... 风骚一族……
5. Why you all pick the song GIRLFRIEND? Such an irritating song... No offence to those who loved this song.
Small updates:
1. Yet to complete what Sharon has tricked and trapped me... But I'll do it anyway...
3. Completed Basic Theory (Class 3 Manual), but haven't sit for the test. Final theory is on the way to completion.
4. Currently quite lonely over at K9, so need you all to call me, MSN me or ask me out please!
5. Never attend AHM 2007 because I have more important task to do... Haiz, another let go - cannot meet up with my friends 了...
Thoughts:
1. Wanted to drive Honda Civic for my Class 3 course...
2. Know that my senior is planning for a coy outing, if not a platoon outing. I wonder if I have that as well on December 2007?
3. Wanted to watch Ratatouille, but 叫人陪我去看真的很费时费力... =.=
4. Wanted to buy 不能说的秘密DVD... Worth keeping it.
5. Actually I wanted to change the appearance and layout for both my blog and friendster pages, but it is SO DIFFICULT?!
6. September is a boring month, with friends going overseas for training and internships.
