Few outings, few updates

It's have been a week plus since last update... Have been rather busy doing stuff, like spring cleaning, catching up TV drama and going out.

Firstly, I must say I've completed 2 dramas, one is HK Lame but funny, the plot was set in the 60's so I guess it's kinda fresh for me because now it's either modern or ancient times kinda drama.

The second one is Korea Secret Garden. The plot is not bad, but the middle very very draggy, until I want to give up. It's only then the female lead accepts the male lead and into the relationship, I continued to watch till the end. Overall, it's not a bad show.

Had dimsum buffet on 12 Dec @ Swatow Seafood Restaurant with PG, HH, Nicholas, ZX, HL, JX, YX. $19.80 per pax. I would like to comment that there is room for improvement for their service. After that took bus 31 to Katong Shopping Centre to relieve Kbox craving. Wah, it has been more than 3 years I last stepped into that shopping mall, also for karaoke lol. Let the pictures speak for me!

Next, had a JB trip on 16 Dec with PG, HH, Nicholas, ZX, HL. Haiz, a bit disappointed that we didn't get to K because the price Neway calculated for us wasn't worth it. But the alternative compensated for it. Had a good durian feast OMG!

Lastly, on 18 Dec, went to buy office wear with HH and PG at Anchorpoint and then went Javier for dinner. Didn't know getting a decent collection of office wear can cost significantly. Look at the height of food!

Mount Everest!

Johor short trip + Sec sch friends gathering

Went Johor on Saturday to have a haircut and visited Johor Premium Outlet near Senai

Johor Premium Outlet!

The place was quite big with lots of parking lots. But even so, all lots were occupied, quite a number of them are Singapore cars. Can imagine the crowd there.

The first shop I went into was Armani. OMG, one office wear shirt for male costs RM1500 (that's about S$625)! That's really too expensive liao. Then we carried on and visit ESPRIT where brother bought 2 shirts for about RM60 plus, cheap I would say.

But on the whole, the experience is not that optimum as I expected. The keyword is queue. Yes, the queue is everywhere. Queuing up to try on the clothes and pants, queuing up for payment, queuing up just to enter the shop and queuing up for a toilet break.

Guess I will come again some other day when the hype is down.

Then today went for a gathering session with the sec sch gang. James, Huai'an and Yuan Sheng couldn't make it last minute. Is it so busy until holidays also can't come out? At least I tried to come out during holidays even I could not make it during study days.

Firstly, had a karaoke session with Sharon and YB @ Scape. Well, it's eons since I last stepped into a Kbox karaoke room. So the feeling was pretty good. Then, all facilities at the Scape outlet were new. The selection of songs is done via a touchscreen panel, but I prefer remote control style, lazy to sit in front of screen and browse through the collection. $13.60 for a 3 hour session on a weekend at town is something I can't complain for. But there is one thing I wish to comment, that is the service standard of Kbox. I do notice that Kbox 'likes to take advantage of the timing'. On the website, it says K happy lasts from 2pm to 7pm, that's a whole 5 hours of satisfaction. But on real ground, it's not the case. The receiptionist told us the room is available till 5pm (only 3 hours instead of 5). Granted, I convinced myself that it's the weekend crowd that they need to make rooms for the next customers.

However, throughout the K session, I have been noticing at the receiption area. There wasn't any crowd. Put it more specifically, I didn't see any customer standing at reception area, waiting to be served and brought into karaoke room. But yet nearing 5pm, the service crew came in and said 'last song' and the system is set so that no more songs will be played after 5pm. So, what is the truth about this? I have been questioning myself this.

After the K session, we went to have dinner at 鼎泰豐 @ Paragon. Pui Han and Jesslyn joined in, made up to 5 persons now. The pork chop fried rice was really nice, haven't had this for more than 2 years I guessed? LOL, but it was really really delicious. On top of that, the 小籠包 was nice too. $15.

Then I had the craving for Big-O famous rum-and-raisin pie. But never did I know they no longer offer this! Should have checked carefully before confirming whether to patronize the cafe or not. But well, as weird as it seemed, even if they had set up the seats for 5 of us, they have to prepare for the next customers. Then we checked in to Canele Patisserie where atas pastries are served.

Sharon had the green tea flavoured cake, I had the citron pastry, Pui Han, Jesslyn and YB had the triple chocolate cake. OMG, they tasted heavenly. However, some commented my citron pastry was sour. But I felt ok leh, it was meant to be like this. A serving of Brewsman Tea complemented the pastries and together coupled with the chit chats, the whole desserts appreciation was very enjoyable.

Oh ya, they all had the chance to try out SIRI on the iPhone 4S. Surprisingly, the US English setting works better for me than UK English one. Not sure why, but I would not use SIRI for most occasion. It's good for novelty purposes and also during driving, otherwise I see doing the tasks by my fingers is much faster.

Had some photos before headed back home by bus. Yes, I agree that taking bus is more comfortable than MRT, but likely to be slower and more expensive. But so far, other than the worst case scenario of the next bus appeared in front of my current bus, all the bus taking experience was quite nice :)

Today is a truly rest day

It has been a long long time since I last stayed at home for whole day doing what I wanted. The feeling was quite good in my opinion.

So here's what I did for the whole day:

1. Did household chores
2. Settle some verification matters at bank downstairs

So when is my next rest day?

Today is Starbucks day

I must say today is Starbucks day. Because they have this event whereby you just donate any amount you want and enjoy a complimentary beverage from Starbucks, which is of course the smallest sized cup available, Starbucks doesn't earn a single cent from me.

So I headed down to Rochester Park's branch. I kinda love this place because it has the tranquility feel to it. Furthermore, it's a new branch. So I can expect a new, fresh and yet quiet feel to it. As you know la, a lot of branches are located in the shopping malls where it's very bustling and noisy.

Then the queue was not long, it didn't take long to get the drink. I had Dark Mocha Frappe and Green Tea Frappe. OMG, the green tea flavour was very nice... All in all, had a good experience at Rochester Park lo.

After that, headed down to ABC hawker centre. OMG, I mistook Alexandra food centre as the ABC one. LOL! Had western food and penang char kway teow. The western chicken chop ($6) was nice (but somehow I think the Clementi's one is no horse run). The char kway teow was average only, I had better ones elsewhere... and for the pathetic portion cost me $2.50, I think the nasi lemak downstairs ($2) is more satisfying.

After the dinner, strolled down to Anchorpoint where I recce for my office wear. The office shirt are going for $43 for 2 with an additional 15% discount! I think they are a real good deal... Shall buy some on the 18th. For pants, I not sure leh, I feel that there are cheaper alternatives somewhere. Most office shoes from Pedro are priced at a 3-digit number, so I guess I would need to make a trip to the nearby Queensway Shopping Centre for shoes lor. Hmm... that's basically sums up my office wear buying trip.

Came across slippers going for $10 at Cotton On, looked not bad. Still considering, did not buy in the end.

Then I saw those smaller, casual-type sling bag ($25-30) at Billabong. Quite decently priced, but is it a need to get a second but smaller-sized bag?

Back to blogging

Hi, I'm back to blogging! Firstly, I must say the past few semesters was really hectic. Now, it's holidays, despite I have a lot of work to do, but at least I have a bit of time to blog.

Well, actually there is nothing much to blog about the period when I am inactive at this blog. So I shall blog about events from today onwards.

To start off, regarding the group and CIP, I have been thinking, I really is 自討苦吃.
Now I think there is slight clash with my own schedule, really is torture myself.
I now have the thoughts of quitting already, blame myself into being convinced so easily by him...
I think Dzahir and YJ made the correct choice that they did not join the group. I would not say it's totally not good, I think it's just not suitable for me that's all.
The first thing to solve is to get rid of this ASAP... NS commitment is something I can't control, spring cleaning and all those are like it's-only-once-a-year-but-need-to-do-now kinda thing.

Then, I have NS commitment to settle. This is already wasting a lot of my precious time!!! Talk about this later.

Next, I realise although the past school holidays have been keeping me occupied (by working), but I haven't been spending quality time at home leisurely. The previous moment? Sometime during NS when I am on one day off.

Now I decided to stop working for this semester and try to achieve some rest at home after exam. But the situation now is that, I have even more things to do! With CNY in 2012 coming up, I have to do spring cleaning and to get new clothes for CNY. I also need to get office wear (paiseh, JC batch doesn't require any office wear for any occasion in JC) for the upcoming IA.

And I also haven't been to real enjoyable holiday trip for this year. A bit pathetic I would say given I have been tied down to all these.

Not to mention my real leisure activities. All those drama haven't do catch up. Where am I going to find time?

And lastly, my holidays is cut short.

Sometimes, I think I am becoming like a robot with no life. Now, I'm starting to reject friends' gatherings and trips which I don't in the past. I think it's getting unhealthy.

And then, a new school semester starts and everything starts all over again.

When I graduate from university, the privilege of being a student vanishes. No more holidays like a month's long or even 3 months.

Really, tell me how am I going to cope with all these?
