Gym + The Brew & Bake Company + Zion Riverside Food Centre + Patisserie G

After 2 weeks without exercise, it's back to exercise again! But I felt my body going to 散掉 after some initial exercises, aigoo... Anyway, last few days of the year always in festive mood - so cut some slack for myself hee~

Lunch was Penang char kway teow at JE Blk 347 hawker centre there. The woman who shared the table with us, asked us where we bought the CKT, 完全喜洋洋去~

Damage: $4

Went home to discovered a lot of Pepero boxes lying around. 原來爸媽去昇松超市買的,5盒才$2.85,每盒才57!便宜到脫褲去!頓時間垂掉去。

Tried out 毛瓜 which mom bought from Perak for the first time. Nothing much, just that the 咬勁有一點不一樣而已。Also tried the 炒江魚仔臭豆, really sedap!

WX bx over cakes recently. Previously didn't hear him make noise want eat cakes before wor, except for the secret recipe @ JB. Went The Brew & Bake Company to have some drinks and cakes as suggested by PG. Xyy~

A bit surprised that the previous Creamz zap lap liao and this Brew & Bake replaced it in its location behind NUS. Aigoo... 不禁會想起HHCreamz老闆事件。

Actually the real reason of visiting the cafe was to enjoy the 1-for-1 drinks offer. I ordered a hot roasted almond latte ($4.90, for myself) and a iced hazelnut latte ($5.50, to be shared amongst us). On the other hand, PG had hot strawberry latte ($4.90) and WX had this iced vanilla latte ($5.50). The roasted almond latte was ok, nothing fantastic to shout about but I wanted to comment on the hazelnut drink - it was super duper sweet! It's no wonder why HH love it over other drinks...

For cakes wise, we ordered peanut butter candy bar pie ($5.90), peppermint pie ($5.90) and stormy choco guniness cake ($5.50). The pies had a rather thick crust below the fillings which looked good and tasted nice as well.

Peanut butter candy bar pie ($5.90)
I liked this because it had a rich and fragrant aroma to it! Aigoo...

Peppermint pie ($5.90)
The peppermint taste was just nice, a little bit more I would have commented as strong peppermint taste liao. Of course 好吃的說!PG loved this.

Stormy choco guniness cake ($5.50)
Basically, the shop added some guniness beer to the cake but I couldn't make out the taste. Only after a few bites before I could identify it. The least popular among the three - PG disliked this.

The overall ambience scored high points but because the weather outside was cooling, I would have preferred they switched off the fan - it was so blazing cold under it until I shivered. Played sgs with them, WX was commenting about the new sgs update.

看得完全入神

*I really begin to wonder why sgs was removed from Google's play store. Firstly, it isn't any adult-appropriate app. Secondly, I don't think it violates play store rules because the same game could be found in Apple's online app store! Assuming the rules and regulation governing the apps in both stores are largely the same la.

Damage: $9.40 (Total $28.30)

Then we were so undecided where to go for dinner at the very last minute. At first, it had been decided that dinner place should be at Adam Road Food Centre. But suddenly don't know WX or PG say don't want go... Aigoo... Then Zion Riverside Food Centre popped up out of nowhere. Anyway, took 151 to leave that place first since 151 could reach the Adam Food Centre. It also can reach Zion one by alighting at Sunset Way and transferring to 75.

So the final decision was to go Zion Road as they found that the Zion one is more popular than the Adam one. LOL~ Then suddenly WX 失心瘋 say this was cake tour! And he even suggested go Patisserie G for more pastries! 計劃一直改來改去醬我有點接收不到的說……

PG was astonished that the Zion Road hawker centre is just opposite of Bistro pizza place which we went to celebrate Sebastian birthday ds. Hehehe...

Ok, so we first went to Zion Road hawker there. The queue for 蝦麵、滷鴨 and 炒粿條 was long, especially the 炒粿條 one - 現炒現賣,很費時費力咯。Surprisingly, the 老吳菜頭粿 which supposedly to be famous, didn't have any queue at all. Bought a $6 serving one with both black and white versions in one plate.

我愛吃的菜頭粿!

As a white carrot cake supporter, the white one was a little bit disappointing - the taste was a bit bland and not much fragrance. The black one, not only oppose the white one in terms of colour, even the taste as well! Aigoo, it was so nice that my vote goes to the black one this time round. Found that the soy sauce taste was strong but not overwhelming like others I had from some other stalls. And I could identify some '焦味' which already is a bonus to the black version! Usually the black version won't have so much '焦味' as compared to the white version.

Damage: $2 (Total $6)

Then took 75 again to City Hall area. The whole bus only 3 of us onboard and the bus whizzed past Tanjong Pagar and Raffles Place area without stopping, which made the trip very fast! Upon alighting, Millenia Walk appeared right in front of us. First time know this lo.

Went in Patisserie G as there was still 1 more hour to go before the shop closes. WX wanted to order 'G spot' (yah~ his G spot lol~), but after seeing the other one, he completely tio poisoned. So in the end, ordered 2 pastries: blancheur ($9) and saint honoré ($8). Blancheur is a pastry which is about tennis ball size and is milky white in colour as it's made up of white chocolate. Saint honoré is something different - had cream, hardened caramel which tasted like some cheapo candies ds and danish-type of bread.

這個好吃!
裡頭有類似雪糕的奶油
讚!

看上去很美一下
味道則普普通通咯
沒什麼特別的

Personally would prefer blancheur, nothing special about saint honoré leh. Then WX was really tempted and considering whether to dabao two G spot pastries back home for supper and breakfast. Aigoo, at the end he also went home empty handed. LOL~ 省錢節儉是中美德喔!

Damage: $5.70 (Total: $17)

*I think I'm back to the usual blogging life before uni started, starting to take down details for blogging. Perhaps I should take more photos? Hehe, so as to create memories as I blog about everyday life, well ALMOST. Uni really leaves no time for me to blog. Exams, tutorials, quizzes... 忙這些就夠了。

Sgt Kim shared the following video on Facebook. It's a eye-opener to how the Japanese decorate the streets and buildings for Christmas. SG? Totally lose out to them!

Then Yi Da shared an article on what happens when soap bubbles are being blown at -9°C! Interesting discovery!
