JB trip: karaoke with Bay + Swensen + Lavender breads

Bay has been pestering me to k since Friday.

Has he gone crazy? Is he super addicted to karaoke? He too stressed? I don't remember him asking me to go sing with him THIS often, it's a bit too much for me le, coz I still got go k with other groups of friends. Imagine going singing with different group of friends every week, very taxing, both physcially and financially, for me.

Friday: Afternoon asked me and choo to come out sing. He happened to be working at Labrador Park there, so it's around west side le. Wasn't available until at least after dinner and Choo got to pack his luggage to go Malaysia for CNY on Saturday! WTH, so early go back for CNY le~ Aigoo... I did suggest to Bay go JB sing as it's so much cheaper and better service lor. *Actually wanting to bring him go JB long long time ago liao, only waiting for the opportunity to come.*

Saturday (yesterday): 7 early 8 early already skype me with 'JB'. Really jin crazy la he. Afternoon asked me go Teo Heng sing, so I said Junction 10 lor where it's about equidistant from both of us. Then he shifted target to Teo Heng @ Sembawang, asked me if I got car or not - wanted me to drive down there, park and sing =.= I don't want to drive there of course. At least if it's la kopi - coz it's not that long so won't feel so heartpain when paying parking fee, if there is *最近很窮啊!* - then I would want to come out. So I recommended Bay to go JB on Sun then for Sat it would be la kopi session lor, if he wants.

The decision made in the evening was to go JB on Sunday. He thought no need to alight from bus and it will go straight into JB. =.= Oh well, there is a need to alight and go past the immigrations on both sides one lo.

Left house at 8.45 am and took 198 to JE, then walked to the 160 bus stop. Earlier on, Bay asked if want to have breakfast at Woodlands with him. Rejected straight away coz really not 順路 leh.

Boarded 160 at 9.03 am without much waiting xyyds. Immediately after boarding, I saw the whatsapp msg and he said he forgot to bring passport!!!! My reaction was like this: '!!!!!!!' Told him that I already on 160 and would reach on time. Taxi was a must for him to go home, take passport and get to Woodlands Checkpoint again! Fortunately he realised it before we reached the checkpoint. 忘記帶護照,這樣也太荒唐了吧?如果出國坐飛機發生這樣的事情,會完全臭掉去的說~

While on my way to checkpoint, he kept asking sibei stupid, lame and boring questions. Really felt irritated at that point of time. He asked things like

- Should I cab there lol
- Now don't need fill the white card liao meh
- Y & Najob say one ar (refer to the previous question after I replied no need)
- There got phone signal bo

Just wanted to enjoy my lovely and peaceful Sunday and he almost ruined it...

It wasn't a long wait for us to meet and no jam on causeway. Quite yang lor~ So we were just 15 mins late. Anyway, Neway gave us exactly 3 hours to sing. So quite yang again! I picked the 西式早餐 (RM 21++) and Bay had his second breakfast - instant wanton mee (RM 18++).

Breakfast was as standard as it should. The cheese sausage was nice. The instant mee was too big for 1 person liao, I think they put 2 packets of instant mee to cook. Meanwhile, crazy karaoke session. Hehe...

Damage: RM 20 (total RM 37, after 20% member discount)

又唱又吃,好便宜喔!Bay also complimented the wireless mic system~ 聽了都洋去……

He mentioned that the worst song S.H.E ever sang is 催眠術...

After the k session, walked around the mall - it was first time visiting for Bay. *那麼巧在Pizzabox外面碰到弟!*While we were outside Levi's store at level 1, happened to see ex-camp mate Moon Kiat! At first we continued talking but 2 seconds later, 我們不約而同停下來問對方是否覺得剛經過的那個人很熟悉?And we knew who was that person! 都過了那麼久,中間也沒有聯絡,一下子跑上去打招呼很奇怪的說……

Went into Hush Puppies shop and was shocked to see their shoes are quite expensive! *幾時才能有錢買東西涅?* But must admit that they are rather comfortable to wear too. Bay commented that he used to buy the shoe pads from Scholl for his boots during his NS days. LOL~ For me, the original was good enough le, no need spend money on that.

Bay spotted the red striped shirt which he liked very much, at the Padini shop. After trying on, he condemned that the S size still a bit too big for him. In the end, he saggy didn't buy anything.

After walking one round at the mall, we settled super late lunch or, rather, early dinner at Swensen. Somehow Bay was quite attracted to Swensen even though the typical serving size is always too overwhelming for him lo. Another thing is that food there is so much cheaper than SG one. Of course it's a pull factor for Bay lol.

I had spicy aglio olio mushroom pasta (RM 15.90++) and Bay went for a healthier choice: caesar salad with breaded fish (RM 11.90++). Top up another RM 6 to get single scoop of ice cream (chocolate peanut buttercup flavoured), mushroom soup and sprite drink.

這份套餐
這回新幣才十元

賣相不錯
但好辣!

這個顏色更討喜!

The pasta was quite spicy, otherwise it gave the 'healthy' feeling of it. Not much creamy/cheesy stuff inside. On the other hand, salad looked very colourful wor.

Talked about my job seeking and whatnot. Bay was feeling freaking cold after the ice-cream. LOL~ I prefer cold than hot leh.

Damage: RM 25 (total RM 46.15)

After the dinner, went Lavender bakery to buy breads for next day. XYY I also bought extra egg tart for 'dinner' later in the evening coz ate so early! Bay bought a bread and an egg tart after I kept influencing him with that tart!

由左至右:
Red Bean Custard Cheese bun (RM 2.70)
Matcha Red Bean Mochi bun (RM 2.20)
Chicken Sausage bun (RM 2.40)
Hong Kong style 菠蘿包 (RM 2)
Chicken Ham & Cheese bun (RM 2.70)

Damage: RM 14

The breads were cheap and not bad, comparable if not better than Breadtalk. Now one floss bread $1.70 $1.80. Super expensive leh. Really, next time can buy everytime visit JB ds. 買完回家~

Went separate way where Bay wanted to try out that $2 AC7 bus. Reached SG around 4.50 pm. One of the earliest times when I come back from JB liao.

Happened to know that PG and WX were at Jem so went there to find them. They were shopping at NTUC before PG spotted me going towards them near to the frozen food corner lol.

Went to Uniqlo to show them the jeans that I've WX bought a new pair of jeans from there for CNY. Only after I came then he realised it's not really the pattern that he wanted. Aigoo, got chance to do exchange he also don't want, even he's right in the shop! SSF ds~

He also updated his phone to KitKat, upon seeing the battery stats, realised that there isn't much awake time when screen is off. Weird but felt that as long as battery life doesn't get so much worse, I'm fine with it.

After reaching home, Bay came over and exclaimed that the egg tart not bad ds. Aigoo, 我介紹的都不錯的說好不好!

Saw this news yesterday. IMO, they are super duper ridiculous! Only in SG then one can see such rules exist. Except for those reasonable ones like eating and drinking on trains and also littering, the rest are really ridiculous. And they still dare to publish out, 不笑死人才怪。 Who would throw missiles at MRT stations or on trains? What are the 'missiles' mentioned here refer to?

Entering or remaining in train when it is full - another ridiculous penalty. Given now MRT is always full on almost anytime of the day, especially during peak hours. This means anybody and everybody should be penalised?

越想越荒謬!

When I visited Korea's subway, it was heaven and earth compared to SG one. Other than the lack of escalators in some of the older stations, one could find toilets, top-up machines, rubbish bins, shops inside the paid areas. There are even mama shops on platforms! And the food and drinks are allowed on trains as there is no sign that prohibits bringing in them. At the most is no flammable stuff only.

Despite the rule, it's not as if people there are abusing the system by eating and drinking like no tomorrow or boh zheng hu in the trains. The scene is almost same as SG one just that there is no sign that's all. Stations, platforms and trains are super duper clean. Shows the culture and upbringing of citizens are important. If people could understand and there is no need for such rules in first place liao...

HK MTR is more similar to our MRT than the Korean subway. But it's still better because of the high frequency and probably free wifi on the platforms. Breakdowns not frequent too...

Really we have lots to learn from other countries.
