Gym + Brunch with the so-called BMT mates

Went gym yesterday morning. Felt that I no longer feel fatigue after doing those exercises, time to do more repetitions/increase the weight? I really want to lose weight de leh

Thanks WX and his parents for the 太陽餅 bought in Taiwan.

PG bx as he woke up late and later came in by himself. Tried out the new skiing/hiking machine, seems fun but very similar to the two beside it. LOL...

Then rush home to buy newspaper then rush down to Bugis MRT at 1 pm.

Participants:
1. Me
2. PG
3. JX
4. Jordan
5. Wiyatno

Not I want to say bad things just to feel good, but Wiyatno planning was really... made me rolleyes. Talk about organising a gathering since December when he pangseh the swatou buffet gathering. Till almost the actual date liao, still cannot confirm date, time and venue. A bit speechless and both PG and me did the venue searching and calling to make reservation.

The reservation with Maison Ikkoku was really epic. It was about 4 pm when PG asked me to call to make reservation, called down and wanted to book table for 5 at 1 pm de. The guy told me booking only possible after 2.30 pm. Ok, I told him that I need to check with friends before confirming anything.

After checking with PG (he said go ahead with 2.30 pm), I then called back 2nd time. That's within 2 mins ba I guess, not very long duration in between. The guy said 2.30 pm slot is full, only can accept bookings after 4 pm.

WHAT?! So fast 2.30 pm also full?!!! 3 plus also don't have?!!! Need to wait till 4 pm?!!! Simi sai... As I really don't know to carry on booking or not, I asked PG again. He said just go with whatever timing la.

The 3rd time I called them, the guy said all bookings has been filled up for the whole day, need to walk-in and leave contact number.

Really the most epic booking ever done (but failed).

Then tried calling another alternative - Symmetry cafe - nobody picked up.

At this point of time, was feeling rather discouraged. The question 'so the gathering is how?' kept popping up in my mind. Anyway,

Was a tad late and JX, Jordan and Wiyatno all arrived earlier than me. PG took 197 down and was the most late. Jordan also complaining about Wiyatno, the planning jin failed. LOL... After meeting up outside Bugis station, the 3 of us made our way to Bali Lane and then bumped into PG there. Then we headed towards Maison Ikkoku and found that, strictly speaking, the restaurant wasn't full house. There was a table outdoors which was vacant, so we took it without any waiting time! No need booking! No need walk-in and leave contact number to wait!

Creative that they use the door as the table top, but a bit impractical because of the grooves and such, makes the plates wobble if the fork and knife go pierce through the food.

Ordered 4 dishes to be shared among us
1. Break of dawn ($22)
2. Portobello eggs benedict ($20)
3. Signature eggs benedict ($22)
4. Smoked salmon scrambled ($18)

Break of dawn ($22)

Smoked salmon scrambled ($18)

For break of dawn, it was really delicious!!! Liked how they do the wedges, very very very crispy! The double orange salad was kinda special as well, it's just appetising!

Portobello eggs benedict and signature eggs benedict looked almost the same, except that the portobello one got some black black thingy while the signature one wasn't. Smoked salmon scrambled (triple S as called by JX) was a bit pale in comparsion. Nothing special except for the guacamole, sour sour like that to enhance the salmon taste. Really enjoyed our time there.

Damage: $16.40 (total $82 means no service charge no GST!)

Stayed till late 2 plus pm. Then Jordan wanted to go up to visit the boutique. Stuffs there were expensive even though on offer. Stayed there for a short while to enjoy the aircon before we went to the next stop, Saveur as suggested by Wiyatno. He went to get movie tickets while the rest walked to Saveur, only to realised that they were closed to prepare for dinner timing.

Sag.

Then PG suggested to go Loaves ME @ SMU. To our delight, it was opened and not crowded at all! Perfect for chilling! Ordered the following stuffs; drinks for individual, food to be shared:
1. Loaves Thai iced tea ($2.90 x 4)
2. Iced lemon lime tea ($2.90)
3. Strawberry chocolate Shibuya toast ($6.50)
4. Hazel banana Shibuya toast ($6.50)

Hazel banana Shibuya toast ($6.50)

Strawberry chocolate Shibuya toast ($6.50)

The Thai iced tea was a bit too sweet for my liking. Didn't try the lime tea though. As for the toasts, they were quite ok but average IMO. Nothing so fantastic out of them, except for the word 'Shibuya'.

PG's new power bank was omg so dua zhong... So big and heavy!

Damage: $5.50

Chatted for a bit before Wiyatno went Somerset for movies and JX went home. Left 3 of us still sitting there and chatted. LOL... Then at about 6.30 pm we walked towards Raffles City Mall. Then did some window shopping at Top Shop. Need to pull Jordan out to accompany me shop for CNY clothes as he can be my image consultant! Haha...

After Jordan went to City Hall MRT station to meet his friends, we also left City Hall for a simple and quick dinner at Clarke Quay. It poured while halfway there and we got stucked at Treasury as PG didn't bring umbrella. Aigoo~ Then we used the time to beautify the food pics. LOL~ I need to plan my time wisely,

The rain was still rather big but we didn't want to miss Rolling Rice as it's closing down at 9.30 pm. So, we risked being super drenched by sharing only one pathetic folding umbrella. Aigoo...

Wore the rockport shoes out as I wanted comfy, but it turned out that the shoes were no match for the 無情的雨!My foot all soaked inside the wet shoes. The feel was very gao wei lor.

Heng the restaurant was rather empty. Chose to dine here while waiting for the rain to stop. Took up their kimbap and noodle set for $9.80. Because the chicken white ramen we wanted required top up $1, the whole meal cost $10.80 but shared between us lol.

*Jordan left his candies in my bag!

Everything was so Korean... The fortunate thing was that the iced water was free flow and self-service one!

Homemade pork cutlet kimbap

Chicken white ramen

The restaurant looked very brand new, the boss is a Korean and I think the workers there are Koreans too. What made me wonder is that why they want to do business outside Korea. I mean SG isn't cheap to begin with, especially the rent~ And consider that it's permanent decision, not some few months or weeks, but years leh! It isn't an easy decision ba? Maybe they love SG as there are really lots of Koreans in SG le? LOL~

As my legs almost gave way, managed to persuade PG to take bus 197 with me LOL~ Watch Heirs on 197, time passed welly fast loh. Reached home still need to dry the umbrella, wash and dry the soggy rockport shoes. Fully exhausted.

*Will add more human shots in this post in future.*
