Dog sad news

Firstly, the news of dog being abused in Pasir Ris Army Camp surfaced on FB. The female mongrel was 'leashed' up on one side, the other side was tied to the toilet cubicle frame and looked like she's quite scared. It was reportedly staying at AVA's pound now and waiting to get bailed out by animal lovers. The article also mentioned 5 dogs were beaten up with a truncheon. Hope they are doing fine now after this incident was publicised.

The second news was even more shocking and ridiculous. It was posted on STOMP today. From the photo posted, it looked like a labrador retriever being stuck onto the lift door at Blk 621 Bukit Batok. But how exactly this happened and how was this possible, I'm not sure.

This was how it happened as reported. The female owner took the lovely dog for a possible stroll. Then when returning, while the owner has entered into the lift proper, the leashed dog was still outside the lift. Here comes the ridiculous part: As she THOUGHT the dog was already inside the lift, the doors closed and the lift started to ascend up. The lift was at level 3, but the lady still holding on the leash. Happening so fast that she couldn't react.

By the time rescue come, the dog was already (strangled) dead, hanging in the air. One could imagine the dog was being pulled upwards and dog was whining and screaming and struggling before it died. Isn't it a torture in some ways? Seeing the picture really made one's pitiful for the dog. The dog is really innocent.

Here comes the illogical part: Assuming that the leash isn't very long and according to the report, the lift was at level 3 and lady WAS STILL holding onto the leash. The length of leash couldn't have make it for such heights. How come the lady didn't feel it? Perhaps the leash snapped halfway? Such a big dog very obvious one also couldn't notice that. 悲劇……

Secondly, I feel that the lift doors aren't safe. The working principle should be the same as MRT doors. If the doors aren't shut properly, the train couldn't move. Similar to lift, if the doors aren't closed, then the machine shouldn't start ascending/decending operation because there might be something caught in between the lobby and the lift.

It must be the lady was busying playing with handphone and took things for granted because she taught the dog was in the lift already. This is where negligence took over the situation and tragedy happened. Really, some people need to be taught the hard lesson before they could wake up.

R.I.P the dog.

My heart sank as I wrote these two news... :( Sad and feel pity for the dogs in both incidents.
