Back to blogging (continued, part 6)

This is part 6 of the back to blogging series, starting with events from June till now. I have not been blogging about the events and thoughts for the past few months. I feel that it helps when you want to review a couple of years later back what has happened today. So I make it a point to blog these things down, even though they sound trivial.

A week's worth of updates from 16 July - 22 July.

Just finished Korean drama: City Hunter. Nice show, but at times a bit draggy lo.
Started on new HK drama: 回到三國. 那個‘死八婆’實在是有傳染力咧!

To my surprise, the junior who took me over the part time job was featured in the SAF's Every Singaporean Son series! 也太巧合了吧?

Happy birthday to Jansen!

16 July IPT
Almost late for IPT session and worse still, the system deducted more fare than it should T.T... A $1.27 trip became $1.75 one. :(

Ok, have been trying hard to clear the NS liability. This lesson was slightly interesting because we, as the attendees, can 'knock-down' PTI. Pretty interesting though. But I really cannot make it for shuttle run, don't know is it body's coordination problem or the shoes lol.

* Maybe I should get a new running shoes for myself? But the old shoes bring back memories to me though. LOL!

17 July Lunch with Edwin + self shopping
Realised YZ is in Korea now for GSS, jio-ed Edwin out for a simple meal at 西門街 @ West Mall instead. Also for us to catch up with each other. Had 豬扒炒飯 ($5.50). Portion a bit small, but otherwise the 豬扒 was ok, not too nua.

Had some chats which included university life and what to do after graduation. He just came back from US for some church thingy, then so happened that he also mentioned Korean BBQ which he had at Ssikkek (식객) recently. All along thought he liked Japanese food more wor.

* Strange that nowadays after people seeing me they will start talking about Korean stuff lol.

Glad to see studying geography does not limit one to digging soil. Haha, 蠢到我.

After the meal, we went inside the mall to see see look look. Edwin wanted some ideas for gifts and also see if there is any iPod Touch casings. Has been years since I last actually went level-by-level to shop, lol. Last time because there were friends around Batok area, so perhaps will hang around West Mall.

Actually I find West Mall rather boring, as in it does not have the wow factor to attract me to go. The shops are not the ones that I would go though. Now then realised Popular bookstore has been closed down and replaced by some other bookstore. On the other hand, spotted a Korean grocery mart. Can drop by if happen to be there again.

After which, Edwin went town for gift ideas while I headed Jurong Point to buy some stationery. Heavy rain at Jurong East omg, heng didn't go town with Edwin. PG also happened to be in town enjoying 김대문. Argh!!!

Tried my luck at Ticketing Office, asked if the system did really deduct the wrong fare for yesterday trip to Maju camp. Was told to wait for a couple of days.

Picked some new Zebra pens and bought coloured paper. Felt the Zebra pens were not bad, so gave it a try by buying 3 pens at one go.

18 July IPT + Kungfu Paradise
PG joined back me for IPT after his reservice. The PTI took us again and basically the programme remained the same. 不行去…… After that we went to Kungfu Paradise for supper @ Jcube as PG got the $8 voucher.

We ordered a melon red tea, 流沙包 and Indonesian fried rice. The fried rice was good. Melon red tea was rather unique, doesn't taste weird either. 流沙包 was ok too. (But I wanted to try Royal China one!)

Simple supper made me happy and fatty! Haha!

19 July 7th Korean lesson
Decided to pop by Ming Jia @ Bukit Timah Plaza for a possible dinner place, but only to find it's only open from 9am to 9pm. Nice for breakfast huh? haha... Feeling slightly disappointed but there's time, so we walked to Lotte Mart to stock up some Korean stuff. Bought the 자장면 (Yes! It has became one of my favourite dish liao), caramel popcorns, banana milk and grape sweets. It has the cheapest banana milk ever.

After last week's disaster (all girls + me = 6 persons), this week's lesson had almost full attendance. But Doris didn't appear, somehow PG was disappointed, haha!

In the end we ended up eating dinner at 가야금 식당 @ Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. The 자장면 not as good as expected, but the meat and sotong Nicholas and PG ordered looked promising.

炸醬麵顯得普通去

鐵板烤肉,蠻贊的!^^

鐵板烤sotong,真的很好吃!^^

반찬!認為中間那個類似壽司的蛋類佐菜最好吃,哈哈!

20 July Neway @ JB
Attendees:
1. Me
2. PG
3. HL
4. HH
5. Sebastian

Absentee:
1. Nicholas

Waited HL, HH and Sebastian for 45 mins. Baituo... Luckily everything at the causeway was quite smooth. At Neway, was quoted 5 hours for RM10++ before a 20% student discount, included a lunch meal and somesort salad buffet. Wow, it was really a good deal honestly.

食物很不錯唷!早知道連飯也吃下去……

* I rather pay for the singing time than food, seriously. Food you can get outside at food court, restaurants, fast food chain, etc. But singing time can only get from Neway lo. Plus, people eating won't be singing anyway...

Picked a lot of songs to sing, and I think 5 hours is just nice. After which, went to Sharetea for some beverages. My Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea (RM 7.90) tasted slightly funny, though it retained the milk tea taste. And OMG, I forgot to adjust the sweet taste and asked for student rate (10% discount).

味道剛開始有少許怪,但之後ok了,而且熱量很高啊!月巴去了…… :(

Then they went to the 土產店 and tapioca chips store and swept 淡汶餅 and all the available spicy tapioca chips available. 大包小包醬. Lastly, tour around Lavender bakery shop and continued buying food from there before we ended our stay in JB.

Back to SG, took CW2 straight to Bugis Queen's Street. Then we walked to Raffles City. Sebastian has something on and left our group at Bugis. Wanted to try out dimsum at this Old Hong Kong Legend (HH bought some vouchers for this restaurant lor, and asked us to join him for dinner).

We were seated and there was no one in the restaurant. So we looked at the menu. OMG, all were so expensive and I didn't anything from the menu that I wanted to eat. And to our horror, dimsum is only offered from 2.30 to 4.30pm everyday. So paiseh, we had to leave the restaurant after nothing was ordered. ZSD... HH, you should have researched more on this restaurant...

We moved to Burger King @ Esplanade Xchange to have a meal. HH was super hungry already, so he went to buy a set meal. I was too lazy to buy any burger though. And omg, the burger was so small. *shake head*

Discussed about the chalet thingy. I really wanted to vote for 1-night stay one. At the end, settled for 2-night stay. But never mind, now at least I have things to do there. And I objected to play too extreme games strongly!!!!! - truth or dare or those drinking games. I guess as we age, we tend to 'settle down' and not so crazy anymore.

The day ended when we took bus home, a freaking long 1.5 hours journey. :( Should have took MRT instead, at most 45 mins reach home. Suntec Convention Centre was undergoing some renovations, which I guessed could be ready when the IT show is back in September ba?

OMG, even Marina Square also changed until I a bit shocked by how Gain City almost taking over the whole Marina Square. Last time when I used to frequent Marina Square quite often, still remembered there was some apparel shops at level 1 and 2. But now all changed to Gain City. Where have these shops moved to? Time has changed.

22 July YB's belated birthday celebration
After a day of lazing at home, it was time to go out again. Met James, YL and YB at JE MRT before we flied down to Chinatown MRT and waited for Sharon.

* For goodness sake, I have been making last minute cancellations to bookings. =.=

Made our way to $10 KTV under the hot sun. Just before we reached the place, YB was immediately attracted to Yum Cha Dim Sum Restaurant! Made booking to it and I had to cancel my booking at Bumbu. Aiyo... The place was not spacious and we climbed our way to 3rd floor where the receptionist was. The room was at 2nd floor, but toilet was at 3rd floor! Need to climb up and down when going for business haha...

Moving on talking about room, it was rather small for 5 adults. I had to sit on the stool aka footrest; soundproofing wasn't good either - there was a door behind the sofa seats and we could hear people singing behind the room! Luckily, the air con temperature was adjustable and the drinks were free flow.

Only me managed to sing all 5 hours throughout, YB, YL and James they all got sore throat I think, could not tong so long. Sharon soon cannot tahan after 2-3 hours singing. Haha...

After the K session, we moved to Yum Cha for dinner. Ordered some dim sum while waiting for Pui Han. Pui Han bought a slice of cake which I think was enough - imagine we had to eat up a full-sized cake! Very very full. While the birthday girl was in toilet, I quickly signaled James and YL to write simple birthday greetings - on foolscap papers! Haha, very funny la.

飲茶點心!
遲來的祝福

頭髮很長,很醜 :(

Initially voted, together with Sharon, to take MRT back home as it wasn't that late and I wanted to save some money. But the working girls said they will pay for the fares and asked us to join them. So ok lor, but I must thank them for the trip treat. James and YL really took MRT home. On our way back, suddenly YB said she wanted to go for ice skate @ Jcube to find back the memories! OMG, it has been more than 9 years since I last skate at the rink there when it was still in JEC. Ahh~ All the memories...

... to be continued.
