Johor short trip + Sec sch friends gathering

Went Johor on Saturday to have a haircut and visited Johor Premium Outlet near Senai

Johor Premium Outlet! 我們稱它為名牌城……

The place was quite big with lots of parking lots. But even so, all lots were occupied, quite a number of them are Singapore cars. Can imagine the crowd there.

The first shop I went into was Armani. OMG, one office wear shirt for male costs RM1500 (that's about S$625)! That's really too expensive liao. Then we carried on and visit ESPRIT where brother bought 2 shirts for about RM60 plus, cheap I would say.

But on the whole, the experience is not that optimum as I expected. The keyword is queue. Yes, the queue is everywhere. Queuing up to try on the clothes and pants, queuing up for payment, queuing up just to enter the shop and queuing up for a toilet break.

人山人海,真的很沒有心情認真shopping……

Guess I will come again some other day when the hype is down.

車水馬龍,不過好像要開始收停車費了

事後去打lok lok

Then today went for a gathering session with the sec sch gang. James, Huai'an and Yuan Sheng couldn't make it last minute. Is it so busy until holidays also can't come out? At least I tried to come out during holidays even I could not make it during study days.

Firstly, had a karaoke session with Sharon and YB @ Scape. Well, it's eons since I last stepped into a Kbox karaoke room. So the feeling was pretty good. Then, all facilities at the Scape outlet were new. The selection of songs is done via a touchscreen panel, but I prefer remote control style, lazy to sit in front of screen and browse through the collection. $13.60 for a 3 hour session on a weekend at town is something I can't complain for. But there is one thing I wish to comment, that is the service standard of Kbox. I do notice that Kbox 'likes to take advantage of the timing'. On the website, it says K happy lasts from 2pm to 7pm, that's a whole 5 hours of satisfaction. But on real ground, it's not the case. The receiptionist told us the room is available till 5pm (only 3 hours instead of 5). Granted, I convinced myself that it's the weekend crowd that they need to make rooms for the next customers.

However, throughout the K session, I have been noticing at the receiption area. There wasn't any crowd. Put it more specifically, I didn't see any customer standing at reception area, waiting to be served and brought into karaoke room. But yet nearing 5pm, the service crew came in and said 'last song' and the system is set so that no more songs will be played after 5pm. So, what is the truth about this? I have been questioning myself this.

After the K session, we went to have dinner at 鼎泰豐 @ Paragon. Pui Han and Jesslyn joined in, made up to 5 persons now. The pork chop fried rice was really nice, haven't had this for more than 2 years I guessed? LOL, but it was really really delicious. On top of that, the 小籠包 was nice too. $15.

Then I had the craving for Big-O famous rum-and-raisin pie. But never did I know they no longer offer this! Should have checked carefully before confirming whether to patronize the cafe or not. But well, as weird as it seemed, even if they had set up the seats for 5 of us, they have to prepare for the next customers. Then we checked in to Canele Patisserie where atas pastries are served.

茶香四溢

Sharon had the green tea flavoured cake, I had the citron pastry, Pui Han, Jesslyn and YB had the triple chocolate cake. OMG, they tasted heavenly. However, some commented my citron pastry was sour. But I felt ok leh, it was meant to be like this. A serving of Brewsman Tea complemented the pastries and together coupled with the chit chats, the whole desserts appreciation was very enjoyable.

Oh ya, they all had the chance to try out SIRI on the iPhone 4S. Surprisingly, the US English setting works better for me than UK English one. Not sure why, but I would not use SIRI for most occasion. It's good for novelty purposes and also during driving, otherwise I see doing the tasks by my fingers is much faster.

Had some photos before headed back home by bus. Yes, I agree that taking bus is more comfortable than MRT, but likely to be slower and more expensive. But so far, other than the worst case scenario of the next bus appeared in front of my current bus, all the bus taking experience was quite nice :)
