For work, at least I see some progress in it. Hopefully I can learn more stuff, at least I have something to write in report :)
This month is quite happening for me. First time dining buffet at 5-star hotel. First time attending dragonboat carnival. Also first time attending 堂弟 1 year old birthday haha.
11 Feb - went Bugis with You Jin for the very first time (since year 2 sem 1?). Bought the famous bugis bread from Bugis street stall, a bit expensive, but was delicious. :)
Then as we were walking around Bugis Junction, playing with Samsung phones and tablets, we saw this 3D illusion floor painting. Took a photo of me 'lost my balance and about to fall'... Haha! Didn't know such painting exists in Singapore!
要跌倒了!
14 Feb - talk about the Sushi Tei dinner on Valentine's Day first. Not some lovey-dovey outing pls. Attendees were me, Nicholas, Sebastian, HH and HL.
I really have to thank HH for organsing yet messing up this outing. Firstly, he wanted and keep on chanting about the Sushi Tei's new outlet @ 112 Katong has 5x the points and hit $100 got a $25 voucher. Firstly, he wanted to collaborate with HL to give the rest of us surprise. But he messed up the whole thing. Left me and Nicholas very kan cheong and sian before the dinner. And the mindset is HL is not coming, so it's a 'men's talk' day. Haha.. until...
Until HL turned up! OMG! What a surprise. Me and Nicholas were shocked to see her. That was quite unexpected. So we had a feast of Japanese food, which high 到 HH. Bento was really average only, I won't pick it over the rest. At least fried rice (tho some argued that can buy from downstair's 煮炒檔) tasted better than Bento. The rest were good. Pics coming up.
講到日本料理就high到他
神秘人物
After which, we walked to Parkway Parade's starbucks to play 三國殺. As usual, I'm the first to finish off the game. Sian...
21 Feb - dinner gathering @ 18 chefs by HH again. 這回還真的給他炸到 - all along thought he was referring to Tiong Bahru's branch, until 5pm he said it's Simei! OMG!
As for the food, I'm not a BIG FAN of western food, say baked rice or pasta. That said, I'm not totally hate it la. But given a choice, I would choose Chinese or Japanese or Thai over western. Perhaps I feel that I can get quite sick of it easily. Not chicken chop, then is chicken cutlet or baked rice. Then you have pork version too. Anyway, for the price I pay, I can't really complain a lot about it. GPGT:
24 Feb - It was a Friday, a working day for me. Suddenly colleague Tue wanted to have a Vietnamese cuisine @ The Orange Lantern for lunch and he's treating me! Was very very surprised by his sudden change for taste. Initially he wanted to eat McD.
This is my first time eating Vietnamese food. To be honest and I agree with Tue, Vietnamese food is really not cheap in Singapore. Beef is the main food item in Vietnamese cuisine. But since I'm not into beef, so I chose some other food items.
For the fried seafood kway teow, it was average at best. Nothing fantastic out of it. To be honest, pad thai is better at taste. Not sure why like this. On the other hand, I loved the side dish! I mean it's really unique and it's not like Thai nor Chinese cuisine. There is this ngo hiang they went to fried it, it tasted really crunchy outside but inside is as original as possible. Delicious.
As a courtesy, I need to return him a meal. A Japanese feast is coming up! Pics following:
25 Feb - Lance was hinting Thai food. Ok, I made it obvious and open that we shall go eat Thai cuisine, together with Nicholas. Tried searching for some nice Thai food outlets around town. Finally we decided to go for Jane Thai @ Orchard Tower.
Upon reaching the place, we were greeted by how sleazy the place was. You can see those women standing outside. Then after enter the building, can see the interior is a bit run-down. And mainly the pubs were operating inside, to be more specific, Thai pub.
Just besides this pub, there stood this small little and perhaps low profile Thai restaurant called Jane Thai. Nah, it's not one of the sleazy places like the rest. It is a perfectly fine eatery place. The price was not too bad given its location in CBD area. Luckily I sat back facing the rest of the patrons, but poor Nicholas had to tahan the scene of ang moh men and Thai women. Lol...
That aside, the food was actually not bad. The green curry is my favourite. Fried chicken wings were nice too. Pineapple rice was just average only. Pics coming up!
14 Mar - Went back NTU for IA assessment by professor. But professor wasn't around (had some miscommunication about appointment scheduling), as I was walking around in school, I noticed some changes going on. Example is the expansion of study area at south spine. They made use of some vacant space below LT (the carpark level) and converted it into study area and they looked nice.
15 Mar - Had the assessment with professor. After some inputs from him, I am determined to do my job well. Gambatte!
17 Mar - Took part in dragon boat carnival for the first time. Actually it was quite fun, but also tiring at same time (woke up super early and I didn't attend the training). Then also got to know the rest of the interns and people. Otherwise I would just emo alone there. :(
Overall it was fun experience. Supervisor didn't expect me to row lol. And I didn't expect polar puffs, milo van to be there. Came as a surprise to me lor.
