The most extraordinary number

Trivial: Prior to this post, I actually had problems coming up an English word for the term 神奇. In the end, I had to ask for help. Finally I found a word for that term which is called extraordinary. Looks like my English is worse than expected.

The most extraordinary number is 142857.
It might look normal to you. But wait! Please continue to read. Why do I say it's the most extraordinary number leh?

Let's multiply it by a range of numbers, i.e. 1 to 6.
142857 X 1 = 142857
142857 X 2 = 285714
142857 X 3 = 428571
142857 X 4 = 571428
142857 X 5 = 714285
142857 X 6 = 857142

It's the same number, just that the digits are messed up.

How about multiply it with 7?
Surprisingly, 142857 X 7 gets you 999999!!!

Also,
142 + 857 = 999
14 + 28 + 57 = 99

Finally, we square the number, i.e. 142857 X 142857.
The answer is
20408122449.
Break up the number into 2 numbers consist of the first 5 digits and the last 6 digits.
Add them up,
20408 + 122449 and you get 142857.

Isn't it very magical?
